We decided to try the Auberge since we were in Victoria doing some business in the neighbourhood. Best decision ever! In addition to the Owner's premises, there are four guest suites cleverly tucked into the residential property and we were thrilled to be in the garden suite. It was bright, clean and comfortable, and a perfect retreat after a busy day. Even though there is a suite above, we heard almost no noise whatsoever. Our favourite part was the charming patio which was so private and peaceful that we almost forgot we were in the middle of a bustling city. The contactless check-in was easy and the communication with Heather, the manager, was friendly both before and after our stay. The neighbourhood is wonderful....with Cook Street Village, the Inner Harbour, the Art Gallery, Craigdarroch Castle, Dallas Road beach, the Moss Street Farmer's Market (Saturdays in the summer) and Beacon Hill Park all within a 5 - 25 minute walk. There are also a couple of great little bistro's literally two minutes walk from the Inn. The Auberge is a refreshing change from typical hotels or B&B's with victorian decor, and we definitely hope to stay there again the next time we are in the area!
