Oakover Guest House

I stayed for 2 nights. I was comfortable in the standard double. The breakfast was very nice, you get to select what you want from a tick list rather than have a set menu. Driving my car down the side of the house to the car park was a toe curler but I did it ;) situated very close to the beach and hub of WsM. I'd recommend staying here.

For: Genuine and friendly welcome. Room small but had everything needed - including a small fridge which is unusual and very welcome. Was clean and well stocked and serviced daily. A few minutes walk to the beach at the end of the road. Breakfast was superb and freshly cooked to order. They also do evening meals on request though we didn’t try these. Against: We were in room 1 on the ground floor - facing the road. The number of noisy boy racers and unsilenced motorbikes were a pain but ultimately didn’t spoil things. The BIG downside is the narrowness of the path to the small car park at the rear of the property. I managed to scrape my car on the way in the first time. Anything bigger than a large family car would really struggle.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at the Oakover. Ann and Simon were exceptionally hospitable and the place has a lovely welcoming feel to it. The room was great - spacious and spotless. And the breakfast was superb - everything cooked to order using high quality ingredients. Totally recommended.

We recently stayed at Oakover for our holiday . The hotel is in a great location,away from the town .It was spotlessly clean ,the bedroom was very tastefully decorated and it had everything we needed . The breakfasts were delicious well cooked and there was so much choice.We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone . Thank you so much Simon for your hospitality. We will see you again soon. First impressions were good, unfortunately that soon changed. The bed was the worst experience we have ever had. Mattress every time you moved it squeaked springs could be felt when we looked underneath a blanket had been pushed under to support the Mattress. Shower had no control on heat . It was cold for First few minutes then went to scalding could not change. Room was advertised with jacuzzi, it took 35 minutes to fill? The whole room needed cleaning, clearly not been cleaned for a long time. Dust all over the room. The kettle had dust inside that you could clearly see where you run you finger. TV screen was covered in marks. Wardrobe runners were black when you wiped a tissue over. Overall room was very disappointing. Another couple told us there room was much the same. On the upside breakfast was nice. To get to the car park was extremely tight.

We just stayed 3 nights at Oakover guest house and I have to say it was the nicest room we've ever experienced at any b&b! We were in room 4 which is very spacious and beautifully decorated. Simon and Ann were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was excellent.We would definitely recommend staying there!

We were in Weston Super Mare to view a sports car we were thinking of purchasing, and we booked for 3 nights, our bedroom was very nice, and suited us for what we wanted, their method of breakfast ordering suited us as I am a fussy eater so like to select which ingredients I want. Very good accommodation, well run, with plenty of information available about the area.

Just had a lovely 5 day stay with family, had 3 Beautiful spacious rooms, tea coffee kettle and fridge, excellent breakfast plenty of choice and cooked to order beds very comfy, walking distance to beach and town centre, car park to rear of property would definitely stay again thankyou simon
