Our first trip to Ireland (part of a small tour group), and this hotel was such a welcomed surprise. The staff were all welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient. The accommodations are well-appointed, quiet, comfortably oversized, and the bathroom was large (good water pressure). The restaurant offered several seating areas with beautiful views of the area…and the food was all well-prepared, hot, and appealing. If your plans bring to Westport in County Mayo, the Knockranny House is a well-worth your consideration.

Wonderful & Beautiful hotel & location seeing the phenomenal Croagh Patrick is amazing at the hotel! The staff were helpful, approachable & genuine, they went above & beyond 5 stars in every team & role, myself & my sister stayed for 2 nights celebrating her birthday. From my phone call reservation, reception, our room, evening drinks at the bar, sumptuous breakfast & divine spa treatments we had an active & relaxing time here. I want to shout out to, Paul (bar), Melissa (reception) Niamh, Valerie & Carrie (spa) & all the wonderful team members at Knockranny House Hotel & Spa. Sharing w my family & friends & we’ll definitely return soon. Thank you Carol & Eve Armstrong

The rooms were lovely. Front desk staff could be a little warmer / friendlier. One in particular. We had afternoon tea. It was ok. They didn’t seem to be prepared for us. The milk for my tea was curdled. I had to look for server to tell him. Our sandwiches seemed stale and the scones came out with no jam and coddled cream. Others who were there for high tea got those items. The grounds and hotel are beautiful though.

We have been quite a few times now on their “special breaks”. Every time treated royally. We preferred to eat in the bar as we loved the ambience and menu to the more formal dining room. Loved the pool and it’s so convenient to go into Westport from its location. Every time my partner sees one of their “special 3 day breaks” he is raring to go. Great location and beautifully comfortable appointed rooms. We will be back!

The hotel itself feels elegant and grand and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. However, any time anyone closed a door, it sounded like a slam. We booked some treatments at the spa, and while the staff there were all wonderful, the spa itself is in need of updating. The hydrotherapy pool area was like a gym pool. Restaurant was pretty good. Service in the bar was fantastic. Easy walk to town center. (Downhill going there, uphill coming back.) If you can look past the looks of the spa, the treatments are well worth it.
