Went here for lunch with a friend today, I live in Dorset but been to this pub a few times for lunch and enjoyed it and that was why we chose it again. We ordered a chicken salad and chips and was about a quarter way through it when we realised it was missing a couple of things stated on the menu so we mentioned it to the lady, I wish I knew her name because she was absolutely lovely!!!! She took our plates and started the whole order again, need drinks, chips and a while fresh new salad each!! She went above and beyond to rectify our small quibble! This kind of treatment is rare to see these days and this why I felt compelled to do a review. Well done to the pub for your lovely member of staff! Lady with blonde plaits! And thank you for being so attentive We will be back when we next go to Winchester

A beautiful & fascinating old inn, with friendly staff and good beer. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere but the (good but not extraordinary) food is aggressively-priced for what you get. I'd avoid the oysters (£4.50 each) next time. The flesh in mine was about the size of a Berocca tablet

Excellent food, service and rooms to a high standard. All the staff are so very friendly in this locals and visitors pub. Dogs are welcome ! The car park is a big bonus and location in the centre of town , which is not noisy, is huge plus. Menu is innovative with lots of twists on your regular pub food . Breakfasts are fab , catering for light or full meals. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking of staying in Winchester.

We stayed 4 nights in this charming pub and hotel. We had a lovely time. The Wykeham Arms is located within a 5 minute walk of the cathedral and the town center. Our room was very charming and comfortable, with tv, Nespresso machine and Bramley bath products. The staff is very nice and extremely helpful. Even if they don’t know the answer, they will find it for you. The service was excellent. The pub was quirky with lots of pictures of historical people and events. It also has a lovely garden area, which we enjoyed sitting in and enjoying a beverage. The food is far above standard pub fare, with dishes using fresh, local ingredients that were beautifully presented. I highly recommend The Wykeham Arms as a place to stay in Winchester.

Booked last minute for a 3 day stay, during the week, a couple of weeks ago. We lucked out due to a cancellation. We couldn't have been happier. An absolutely amazing stay. Our room was comfy, super clean and gorgeous. The pub itself was equally as amazing. Our dinner on the first night was seriously enjoyed and tasty but could have been more generous in size. Breakfast was above average. The super friendly and efficient service from everyone was outstanding and the true icing on the cake. We will be back. Thank you to the whole team, a true gem.

Hi Well I must say a lovely Fullers Pub / Restaurant Well Done. We stayed in Winchester for the evening and found this lovely cosy pub with a great atmosphere The staff where great very chatty and welcoming. But the star was the FOOD outstanding ! ! ! We are foodies and eat out a fare bit ! We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was great well down to the Wykeham Team well deserved Keep up the good work Regards David and Helen PS Great to have an atmosphere in a local Pub with no music playing excellent. The worst thing is to hear rubbish music when you are out for the evening.

Beautifully appointed rooms. Comfortable bed, amazing breakfast. I stayed here after an event at Winchester College. It feels like a cosy home away from home with beautifully appointed rooms, it's like stepping back in time. Comfy bed, hot shower, complimentary drinks in your room. Loved it ❤️

Disappointed… I’ve visited the Wykeham Arms many times in my life, for the past nearly thirty years… No longer local, and making a special trip to Winchester to show my children (aged 11 and 15) the sights of the beautiful city, we decided to stop for a drink in the Wykeham Arms… it wasn’t busy and we found a table out the back. Went to the bar, waited, chose drinks - to be told very bluntly that we had to leave due to having a young child (our 11 year old!!!). Perhaps if we had been told prior to finding a seat/waiting at the bar etc, it may not have felt so bad - but to be told fairly rudely to leave was not only disappointing but actually fairly embarrassing and uncalled for. Don’t bother choosing this place for a drink with your children - you won’t be welcome!

I don’t often eat at the Wykeham arms. It has always been the perfect place to read the paper, cosy by the fire, paint or talk to lovely random strangers. I had the beef on crumpet. I wish there was more, It was delicious. It was paired with a lovely glass of wine. It’s the Perfect Friday after work place to pop in. The school desks always a favourite.
