Minshuku Yakushima

It is a guesthouse where you can enjoy island cuisine, and I used it when I climbed Jomonsugi. First of all, I read that the food was very delicious and used it, but I was treated to an exquisite dish that did not disappoint. The braised fish and pork were very delicious and impressive. I parked my car in the parking lot in front of the guest house, pressed the intercom at the front desk near the entrance, and called the person in charge to check in. The room was equipped with a washbasin, TV, refrigerator, mattress, hangers, and yukata, and the bath was in the large public bath. The restroom is outside the room, so I didn't have to worry about the noise. I ordered a bento the day before climbing, so they prepared a mountain climbing bento for the morning and lunch. The pillow was made of hard buckwheat husk, so I used a bath towel I had instead. During my stay at the inn, I wore the provided sandals, so my feet didn't get cold if I wore socks.

Stayed one night after traversing Mt. Miyanoura. They let me wash my shoes that got dirty from climbing, and they lent me a place to dry my wet tent, which was very helpful. The room was clean and the food was delicious. I was a little flustered that the number of guests was 2, whether it was a mistake by the travel company or a misunderstanding of the guest house, but they responded immediately. The owner was also a former guide, so the story of Yakusugi was interesting. You can rent bicycles at this inn, so I think it's good for trekking in the direction of Jomonsugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo. used.

I saw this place and it had a very good reputation, so I made a reservation and went. The food was voluminous and the room was clean and nice. However, if you look at the date of the evaluation, you should have noticed that it was the latest in 2019 and a little older. The owner and his wife are very personable, and the washing machine is free and the service is very good. However, both of us are very forgetful, and the most dangerous thing is to confirm whether or not meals and lunches are necessary. If you want to attack the Jomon cedar, you will leave early in the morning, but there is no convenience store that is open 24 hours on the island, so if you make a mistake in arranging a lunch box, it will be quite dangerous. On the way to Jomonsugi, there is one bento shop that is open early in the morning, so if you forgot to arrange a bento, be sure to buy it there before going. Again, the owner is a friendly and really nice person who likes to talk. It may be the limit to continue staying at the guest house due to age. It would be nice to have a good successor. As much as I love this kind of inn, I don't want it to disappear, but lunch and meals are the most important part of a trip, and I thought that some people would probably get angry, so I rated them as "bad."
