DoubleTree by Hilton York

Not enough carpark space : Please be mindful that there isnt enough parking space on site. As we arrived quite late at around 9pm, the on site parking was full and we had to park in a car park 5 mins walk away, which is fine but it would have been more convenient to park at the hotel. Very aged and small room : We chose a Hilton hotel to avoid staying in an old-fashioned B&B in york, however it is really a surprised to us that the room was very old and aged... which i think was misleading in the pictures, maybe because we got different type of room, but we definitely expected a more modern accommodation. Woodbug issues: We found a few small insects during our stay, which i would say is quite normal during British summer, although its not pleasant. We took picture and looked it up and believed they were "Drugstore beetles" which can be found in old wooden structures. Welcoming Staffs: Staff at the reception was really nice and friendly. We were welcomed with warm cookie which was definitely a nice touch, especially after a long drive. The hotel breakfast was lovely too. The restaurant, lobby and public areas have much more modern interior than the rooms. Overpriced rate: Overall we slept well at the hotel. The mattress and bedding was comfy. However, I would say it was quite overpriced as the bedroom quality would be classed as a 3-star B&B or motel in my opinion. Do not recommend it.

The location is superb and is within a mile from the Train station. The service of the crew is wonderful (person who served us was Ms Pip). Hotel room is spacious. Breakfast is a spread! Enjoyed the stay very much, will highly recommend to anyone who comes to York.
