Above and beyond. The shuttle service in-house was complimentary and efficient in transporting us back and forth the train station during our arrival and departure. Recommend to spend time with the Glacier paradise in Zermatt as well!

Nice staff and nice hotel

The hotel is absolutely fantastic!!!! We arrived on July 13th and they picked us up with all our luggage at the station, after which they gave us a free upgrade to the room with a view of the Matterhorn!!!!! Something breathtaking!!!! Truly gorgeous! I will absolutely return also for the friendliness of the staff!! Thank you with all my heart!

A great stay! Transportation is also very convenient! The room has a direct view of the Matterhorn! The service staff at the check-in counter are very friendly! Feel at home! Recommended!

Actually, there is a hotel reception car at the exit, but we didn't know it. I bought a bottle of red wine at the supermarket DENNE near the station, and ordered a steak on the 0th floor of the hotel. It was very comfortable for two people to share. Thank you hotel staff! We also ordered fried eggs for breakfast, which was good.

Although I didn’t know his name, the boy at the counter was very polite and happy to help me with any questions I had. Thank you for having him help me complete this trip to Zermatt~

We had an incredible time at the hotel National. The staff all around is very attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. The rooms are very comfortable with an awesome of the Matterhorn, the lounge and dining room is beautiful and the food is delicious. We highly recommend the National in Zermatt.

The staff made our stay - all were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was amazing, rooms comfy and the pool & spa area was very relaxing. Ski room was brilliant. Dinners were delicious and the local wines lovely. Thank you for everything!

This hotel is stunning and in the perfect spot in town. It’s not far from anything and has great views of the Matterhorn. Sean was an amazing receptionist and made us feel at home I only wish we had more time here. Whenever we come back to Zermatt I’m going to try and get a room here again. Thank you Sean and the rest of the staff for making our stay magical

A shout out to National Hotel Zermatt for the wonderful room, delicious breakfasts, friendly staff, and customer service extraordinaire. My very special necklace slithered down the space between the desk ledge and wall; the staff “rescued” it by cutting into the wall. Above and beyond! There are so many hotel choices in Zermatt but you won’t go wrong with this one. Thank you National Hotel Zermatt!

Clean, comfortable, convenient and with friendly and accommodating personnel, I loved this hotel! The dinner and breakfast was just excellent, room was really large and so comfortable and clean and everything was within walking distance. Wonderful place and I would highly recommend!

Traveling with a Natl. Geographic Tour Group was a delightful experience especially as our 1st stop was Zermatt staying at the National Hotel. It's perfectly located for easy walks thru out the town, or off to the cable cars up the mountain. The staff were welcoming and very helpful with suggestions for extra dining, places to visit and local shops for particular needs. Rooms are beautifully appointed with marvelously comfortable beds & pillows, a small table w/2 chairs, safe, mini fridge & coffee maker. Bath rooms are spacious, the tub/shower has great water pressure and very good lighting (for makeup). Don't hesitate to make use of the beautifully appointed Spa & Pool; a great relief for these tired travelers and for parents, a charming baby pool w/toys for children. The Bar offers an intimate setting, perfect for a cozy afternoon or evening cocktail and the dining room wonderful for breakfast.

The train ride from Grindelwald to Zermatt was beautiful, there was a seamless bus transfer from Visp to Täsch due to the June floods. Bruno at reception was great and replied emails promptly, arranged a shuttle van / buggy for us at the train station (alight at the designated Hotel Shuttle area). Also a free phone booth to call hotel shuttle too at station. Our duplex room on the 4th floor between 405-408 has a jaw dropping view of the Matterhorn from our twin balconies, which is great when taking sunrise photos of the famous crimson mountaintop view at 5:50am. Room was spotless and nicely furnished, lots of Power plugs, modern bathrooms with large jacuzzi, beds are v comfortable. Spacious cabinets for clothes and gears. Slippers and bath robes. Conveniently located within walking distance to town and local bus stops. Breakfast is included and nice choices (eggs and omelette and pancakes are cooked at request). We didn’t try the pool and sauna. No aircon but ok to sleep with open windows since there are drapes (like fly screens), also cool at night. the Gornergrat train track is located next to the hotel , but not noisy at all. There is a guest toilet at entrance too. The extra bed for my child is v comfortable. Right opposite the Sunegga station for skiing. For day trips to Matterhorn paradise or Gornergrat , just 8-9min walk or use the free bus service under the bridge.
