We found the hotel to fit our needs. It was quiet, located off the central Zermatt area. This meant that to get to and from the shops you needed to walk for 10-15 minutes (not bad, but still tiring after a day on the slopes). As other reviews noted, it is closer to the Matterhorn Paradise Express Gondola station than to the Sunnegga Bottom Station. Would have wished the hotel offers transfer from the train station at no charge (rather than charging per person), especially due to to their still high prices. The room was spartan with no kettle, cups or glasses. You could pick them from a table on the first floor, but could not understand why they would not simply be placed in the room. Also, no coffee or tea packets. The room was very clean though and the beds soft and comfortable. We appreciated the high quality sheets, blankets, and pillows. Surprisingly, you cannot take a shower at night (at least that was what was written in the room). The curtains were great, blocking all light. Our room had a balcony with a view of the mountains and through some trees could even see even the tip of the Matterhorn!

Great hotel Don’t expect luxury but given the price point you know this already The rooms are small but functional with everything you need for your stay including a great coffee machine that’s topped up daily. Breakfast is well beyond what I was expecting and had cereals, meats, yoghurts, breads, cheeses, sausages, eggs and probably much more! Plus more really good coffee! Located 5 minutes walk to Bayard ski rental, and an additional 1 minute to the Gornergrat railway taking you up onto the slopes From the hotel, you can be on the train in under 10 minutes. Staff are really helpful and allowed us to keep our bags there on the last day even though we’d checked out. There’s a quick lift to all floors. I would highly recommend the hotel if your plans are to ski all day, go out on an evening and use it as a place to sleep. Would certainly return

Goao picked us up from the GBB station and pointed out different restaurants that we might like. Walking into the hotel revealed a scent perfect for the senses, and the decor was fabulous. We were greeted by Marco’s smiling face. He was pleasant and full of information. He answered all of our questions and was very attentive to our needs. We mistakenly took the lift down to the basement but was surprised when Martin, the owner of the hotel, greeted us and inquired about our experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and it had a great layout. Balcony views of the mountains on both sides were an added bonus. We enjoyed the daily complimentary breakfast, the selections were awesome, and the staff were nice and pleasant. Between the three gentleman and the breakfast staff, we felt welcomed and appreciated. We will definitely stay here again if we’re able to return to Zermatt. I highly recommend it.

Getting a room in Zermatt during the peak winter season is quite challenging without committing to a certain minimum number of room nights. We were fortunate to book a room at Hotel Derby for one night, which fits our tight travel schedule. Several things we loved about this hotel: 1. The location - It is easily accessible on foot and situated along a busy street, only a minute's walk from Zermatt train station. 2. The guest rooms - They are recently renovated and beautifully furnished. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the peak of Matterhorn. Unfortunately, it was too cold in December that we didn't get to enjoy ourselves or stay out for long. 3. The breakfast - A wide selection of continental breakfast and it is included in the room rate. Even though it was a short stay for us, on the whole, the staff is amiable, and we highly recommend it.

It is only a 3-minute walk from the train station. It is very convenient. The room has a balcony with a view outside. It is very good. The breakfast is also quite satisfactory. It is very good to store luggage for free after early arrival and check-out.

Very cozy and clean, the staff checked our covid certificates and immediately accommodated us in our rooms. Breakfast was included in our price, we were asked what we wanted to have (croissant, bread, coffee order and ham/cheese) the previous day. I want to believe it was due to corona restrictions that they did not include these on the breakfast buffet, because one thin slice of bread was not sufficient; although we got a second serving when we asked. The rooms were warm, clean and all in all, a very decent option for the otherwise ”overpriced” Zermatt.

We stayed in the first floor apartment in this brand new building. The apartment which accommodates six guests, covers the entire first floor. The apartment is surrounded by balconies and a huge terrace directly facing the Matterhorn. Two bedrooms and the kitchen/dining overlook the river. The sound of the river is really seductive! The third bedroom overlooks the terrace and has a huge modern ensuite bathroom. The apartment has been done to an extremely high standard. The kitchen is huge, modern and well equipped. The three bathrooms have been done with modern design and tasteful finishes. There is a washing machine/dryer in the apartment which is extremely convenient. The location of the building is very central with easy access to the train station and all touristic and sports attractions. Many restaurants are within meters away. Our stay was made most comfortable by the constant attentive service provided by Ms. Alessandra who takes extra care and does not spare any effort to make her guests enjoy a memorable vacation. Highly recommended.

This hotel offers a decent location, although it requires a bit of a walk from Zermatt train station. However, the reward is a beautiful Matterhorn view from the hotel room, which is a delightful feature. The breakfast was typical of Swiss hotels, but the real highlight was the impressive range of facilities, including an open-air jacuzzi, gym, sauna room, and indoor swimming pool, providing guests with various options for relaxation and recreation. As for the room itself, it met our expectations. Overall, a pleasant stay with some great amenities.

It was okay, because it was cheap, so I didn’t expect too much. The location is just a minute's walk from the train station, which is very convenient. What is very surprising is that the TV is extremely rich in content. There are many Zermatt documentaries to watch, and you can also watch the weather forecast.

AAnonymous UserLovely stay! Got the matterhorn view suite and it was so beautiful! The receptionist was also very helpful with guiding us with what we can do at Zermatt!
However, need to take note that their reception will only be there till 10pm. It’s actually stated but I didn’t read it so when I arrived Zermatt train station at 11pm, I panicked a little. We flag down the taxi at my own cost, 18chf for 3 people and luggages, they dont provide free taxi after 10pm. Also, the entrance door will be closed/locked after 10pm, we rang the bell and the door opened and they left the key with a letter on the counter for the check in.
The breakfast place is also overlooking the Matterhorn and it’s so pretty. Stayed for only 1 night but really enjoyed my stay there!

GGuest UserI am very satisfied with the fact that I can see the Matterhorn from the balcony. The front desk was very considerate and sent it to the room. It also introduced various instructions in detail. There is a special welcome card and the facilities are complete. There are also chocolates of the same type as the Matterhorn in the refrigerator. You can take pictures and check in. There are various commercial streets. convenient

GGuest UserAccess from Zermatt station requires climbing a steep hill, so dragging a large suitcase was a bit of a challenge. The staff were kind and flexible with early morning check-out. The room was very spacious and clean, and the view from the balcony was amazing. The only amenities were body soap, but I brought my own shampoo and other items, so it wasn't a problem. The water pressure in the shower was also fine. I had a very comfortable stay. If I had more time, I would have liked to stay longer.

Very near the zermatt train station, just opposite of Macdonald’s.
Breakfast had a good selection.
Housekeeping would check in on you and offer free chocolates.
The only feedback I have is the room didn’t provide English instructions on how to dial the concierge so I had to walk down to request for items.

GGuest UserGreat hotel with great friendly staff. Was here with 40+ people and it was an amazing experience. Wait staff at breakfast and dinners were just wonderful, so friendly. Front desk people were knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend Albana Real hotel for anyone. Breakfast food was great and we had three meals here, one in each of three different specialities. Location was also very good, but in Zurmatt no location is poor

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the center of Zermatt, the street opposite the church. It is very central, and only 7 minutes away on foot to the bahnhof. The staff of this hotel were all very friend and helpful. The room given was on the first floor. The room was clean and comfortable, but I felt it too small for 2 people. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The bathroom also had a window to the street which was a good thing to keep it open to remove the steams after showering. The breakfast was sufficient. it consisted of cold cut, sweet pastries, coffee, bread and cereal. All in all it was a good hotel, and not too expensive.

HHong AVery amazed by the level of automation in the hotel! Check-in was seamless even though it was just an iPad. We needed to pay a tourist tax via an online link prior to arrival but we were abit wary given the number of online scams nowadays - perhaps it’ll be better to charge everything up front?
There was free coffee available as well, which was a huge plus. The room was amazing, spotlessly clean, sufficiently big, had a balcony, comfortable bed. One of the staff (a guy) allowed us to put our luggage in the room early even though we could only encode our card after 3pm. He even helped us make a reservation at Du Pont as we didn’t have a Swiss number, thanks very much!
The hotel is a 10min walk from the main train station, though there are free buses which can shorten the journey. We just walked as it was faster.
We were in Swiss for 2 weeks and this hotel is definitely the best accommodation we had - for a very good price as well!

GGuest UserTrip.com did not state the linen fee charges per person on their website. When I arrived I was shocked that a 4CHF per person per night has turned in a 78 CHF payment which is a huge discrepancy. However, it took me about 2 hours and I resolved this with the service reception of Alpen. There is no main reception in this lobby but the service providers were superb. The room is amazingly spacious and clean and it was an overall lovely stay thanks to the great service and comfort of the room.

GGuest UserThis hotel is an easy 5 minute walk to the train station. Check-in was welcoming and the room was fine. It is spacious enough with plenty of closet space. Comfortable bed, good shower and bathroom amenities. We liked having a little fridge and Nespresso type coffee maker. Breakfast was excellent with many hot and cold options. I ate much too much! In the afternoon they offer coffee and homemade cake in the lobby. An English language chanel on the room TV would have been nice. The hotel has a pool and a sauna which we did not have a chance to use.

Very warm, with an independent bathroom, the focus is clean, the location is good and there is a small balcony, the heating is enough, the room is a bathroom, every day to disturb the room! The store manager is super good, and I will shake hands with us to say some friendly greetings! Really recommend!
