Pullman Zhangjiajie Hotel Reviews

I booked this hotel for my mom since my husband and I stayed there a few years ago and had an amazing experience. However, she said that no one would speak to her in any English (when we were there, everyone was very helpful and the manager was foreign). She also had a bad experience with a massage she booked. She thought she could charge it to the room, but the woman demanded cash, then once she paid, wouldn’t let her out of the room until she gave an extra tip. Apparently that was the only word she said in English the whole time. I’ve never been expected to tip in China, so this seems like they’re taking advantage of foreign guests who may not know better. The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of the national park, but the concierge tried to get her to take a taxi for way too much to a different gate. Luckily, she called me to ask if that was worth it and I told her, “no, don’t take a ¥50 taxi to another gate when you’re less than 1km from one of the main gates.” It just made her start to feel uncomfortable that everyone in the hotel was trying to trick her. It’s a shame because the hotel is lovely and the breakfast is actually quite good, which my mom said is still the case. But she had a very mixed experience where the hotel was great, but the staff didn’t make her feel well taken care of. Very different from my husband’s and my experience a few years ago.

Hotel is located at a great location. Its walking distance from Tianzi mountain scenic area entrance. Beautiful views from balcony and good spread of breakfast including some options for vegans and non Chinese cuisines. Staff understands basic english. Hotel has in house Convenience store where you can buy basic stuff like biscuits, cold drinks, beer and toiletries and other travel amenities at almost regular prices. In the night, a flee market is there in the lane outside the hotel where you can buy souvenirs and local specialities at cheap price. Overall a satisfactory experience.

Nice clean big room and big twin beds. Close to Wulingyuan scenic park 10 minutes drive and city center is around 15 minutes walk. Enjoy the breakfast and various type foods. Recommend

I stayed during the Christmas holidays 🎄 with my family (also got Christmas gifts 🎁 😃). This hotel is very near to the Wujiauyu ticket office (around 1km). The hotel staff is really helpful in giving tips for travel around scenic areas and few of them speak English well. I stayed with my family and they upgraded my room for free. 😃 You can also get a discount ticket from the hotel for the Charming Xiangxi show, which is just adjacent to the hotel. If you got tiered roaming in the scenic area you can also try foot massage. If I visit Zhangjiajie again, this hotel will be my first choice.

It's ok hotel. They are too upfront about tips for everything that you ask them. The bell boy will touch your luggage only when you pay tips. In case you don't have change, they would shut the door on your face in a most horrible way. So much of tips hungriness, I have never seen anywhere across China. Also, getting a seat for breakfast is a challenge unless you are an early bird. We checked out after 2 nights and stayed the 3rs night at Hilton (4 star category) and they were 1000 times better than Pulman.

The location was fantastic. Pool is beautiful but bring a swim cap. The show next door is definitely a must do. The hotel can arrange tickets.

Good location. Big rooms. Friendly staff. But spa masseuse aren't consistent. Had good masseuse first day then very bad one next day

Great location, about 1km from the east gate of Wulingyuan scenic area. Many restaurants just steps away. There’s a theatre next to the hotel, was able to book a performance, definitely worth it. Hotel has beautiful pool area, unfortunately too cold to use, would be amazing in the summer. Breakfast was plentiful, standard western and Chinese choices. The furniture and decor is kind of traditional and old style, but well maintained. The only negative is that there are carpets in the rooms, inevitably with small stains, overall, I would recommend the hotel, best in this area.

That was a very nice staying. Spacious and clean room, convenient location, always ready to help team. Totally recommended!

The hotel is located in convenient place close to National Forest Park The breakfast was ok. We traveled during national holiday, but it was plasent experience anyway. There are many restaurants around.

A nice stay with all the amenities needed. Close to the bars and restaurants but quite enough to rest. A bit big hotel with many people, get’s quite crowd for the breakfast

One of the best value hotel in zhangjiajie ! Breakfast is various … mixed with Chinese and international dishes . Very comfortable room . Swimming pool very kids friendly ….. nice and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect location ! Highly recommend ! Very friendly and supportive staffs ! A great experience !

Great full service hotel. Professional helpful well-trained staff. I wish the restaurant was better though.
