Im Rahmen einer Bilderausstellung mit Klavierrezitals waren wir drei Abend zu Gast im Ballsaal, mit jeweils rund 80 Gästen. Ein prachtvoller Saal, der wunderbar gepasst hat. Die Mitarbeiter des anschliessenden Aperos waren absolut kompetent, freundlich und sehr gut organisiert. Aufgefallen ist uns ein junger Mann, der die HFS Lausanne besucht und in Zürich sein Praktikum bestreitet. 5 Punkte! Die Häppchen waren delikat, ebenso die Weine. Allerdings zeigt sich die Atmosphäre des Hotels nach dem Umbau kühl, unfreundlich und desinteressiert an "normalen" Gästen, aber fast unterwürfig bei vermeintlich hochkarätigen Besuchern. Schade, das alte Savoy hatte Esprit und Charme und war eine Visitenkarte Zürichs - wir wünschen uns, dass dies alles zurückkommt! Keine Bewertung der Zimmer und Restaurants!

I stayed before here when it was Baur en Ville and then Savoy and very recently when it became Mandarin. The reason I chose this hotel was because it was walking distance from my doctor. But what a disappointment! Recently redecorated, very kitsch for my taste. The lobby who used to have high ceiling has been lowered down I think to have an extra space for meetings or something. Terrible art work, a silly fake flame burning fireplace in the lobby. We had a Junior suite with my daughter where the only good thing was the balcony. Actually there were 2 balconies separated by an opaque screen who knows why. One of the balcony had furniture the other did not. The cupboards had no doors or curtains. The room was more like a superior than a Junior suite. Room service was terrible and outrageously expensive. The buffet breakfast was meagre, uninteresting and with a limited selection. The only good thing was the staff: professional, attentive and ready to help. I think this was the worst 5 star hotel I ever stayed in.

Die schlechte Erfahrung beginnt schon beim Doorman / Portier beim Eingang... Der Doorman / Portier (angezogen wie ein Pinguin) in diesem Hotel ist das Letzte! Wie waren dort Hotel Gäste und schickt uns weg weil wir dort unser Gepäck einladen wollten! Was soll das?! Wie kann man solche Leute in einem "5" Hotel einstellen? Ich würde so einen Typ nichtmal in einem 1 Sterne Hotel erwarten! Wer stellt solche Leute überhaupt ein? Gibt es in diesem Hotel überhaupt noch Bewerbungsgespräche oder Qualifikationen die man erfüllen muss? BLEIBT VON DIESEM HOTEL WEG, da ist nurnoch der Übernachtungspreis 5 Sterne Level.

Der Doorman / Portier in diesem Hotel ist das grösste Stück Sch*****. Wie waren dort Hotel Gäste und schickt uns weg weil wir dort unser Gepäck einladen wollten! ***?! Wie kann man solche Leute in einem "5" Hotel einstellen? Ich würde so einen Typ nichtmal einstellen um den Müll in einer Müllhalde zu entsorgen. Welcher Affe stellt solche Leute ein?
