Hotel near Melbourne Central Business District,Melbourne 68% of visitors choose this area

The hotel has an excellent location, right in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, with a bustling commercial district right outside. Various light rail lines (Melbourne doesn't have a metro, it's all trams) pass by. The hotel is clean, the front desk service is acceptable, and the breakfast is decent. The only downside is that it's not a great option for several consecutive nights without changing hotels. The hotel is new, so the facilities are quite modern. The biggest problem is that hotel prices in Melbourne fluctuate daily, and the differences are huge; for example, weekend prices can be more than double Monday prices.

The hotel is super convenient. It is in the centre of Bourke street. A lots of shopping, eateries and grocers within 10m walk. Unbelievable. Only set back, they don’t have a washing machine in the apartment. The view from the apartment is good. I stay on a very high floor. The apartment is clean but a bit outdated. Overall, I will return to stay again

Hotel location is good - near public transport (Flagstaff team station) and near Victoria Market. Cleanliness was OK, except for some black droppings falling out from air-conditioning fan, and found a tiny cockcroach on last day of stay.

The room is tidy and clean. Kitchen and utensils could be cleaner (and less oily). Great amenties. Netflix on TV. Free laundry on the ground floor, with washing powder and softener provided. The time to wash and dry is a bit long though. There is a balcony with only 1 ft width, but enough for getting fresh air and the view of yarra river. Good location to have a night walk around the port. Two grocery stores near the hotel. It is quiet but still located within free tram zone, so it's more affordable and very convenient to go out. Near the skybus station in southern cross station from or towards the airport.

We stayed here overnight on a trip further north. I got it for a great price and couldn’t believe how exceptional this unit was. Everything you could need and so amazingly clean. Holidaying here with children would be fabulous- the facilities were amazing and the grounds beautiful. Cabins are well set out and there’s plenty of space for caravans. Loved it!

Overall I had a great stay! My room was pretty cozy and the location was conveniently close to trams and Souther Cross Station. Amenities in the room were excellent (kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, heater, ironing board). Maybe bring your own slippers in winter as the tiled floor was very cold in the morning. Quite a few obvious wear and tear but overall still decently clean. The only thing that bothered me was one of the kitchen utensils was still dirty. If you are a light sleeper you would need earplugs as it’s quite noisy from the trains and trams passing by. Personally i enjoyed the background noise. I enjoyed my night ins in the room with access to the TV and to be able to cook / heat up food. Staff at the reception were all very lovely and welcoming. I would stay here again :)

We stayed for our anniversary. I listed that it was the case at the time of booking. On check-in, Alicia at reception congratulated us, notified us that we would be upgraded and sent a bottle of sparkling wine to the room for us. The room (level 21, rm 25) was stunning with views of the city, clean, well-appointed and big, classic design, and luxurious. The price is a splurge but lively. The complex itself is great with quite a lot to do beautiful food and wonderful staff. It is about a 5-10 minute walking distance away from the multi-level carparking if you choose not to use the valet.

The front office staff was slow during check out. I had to wait to receive my deposit and check in to the room. Meanwhile, my car had already arrived. We stayed in room 1027 and every night there was a very loud and shocking noise (probably a pump). After complaining, our room was changed. The location is very strategic and easy to get everything we needed. Otherwise everything perfect

Stayed for two nights. The room was very clean and the waiter was very friendly. There was a problem with the door of the small balcony in the room, but they quickly changed the room. Although the hotel is about 1.4 kilometers away from Chinatown, there are many restaurants nearby, which is very convenient.

CClarrence LeoWe are a family of 5 adult and 1 infant, and we booked 2 rooms separately. We primarily chose this hotel because of the good location next to the domestic terminal and a not-so-expensive price point (compared to Parkroyal which was directly opposite the hotel). The rooms were decently-sized, nothing too luxurious as it catered mainly to travellers transferring in the airport. The hotel had a massive gym, which was surprisingly given that it was mostly empty but they had all kinds of equipment catering to all body parts. We also had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was OK. Not the best food, but at least it filled out stomachs with the standard spread of Western food - fruits, bread, eggs and bacons etc. All in all, would recommend this hotel if you are transitioning at Melbourne for a night and looking for an affordable yet not too shabby place to sleep!

GGuest UserThis is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

SsweetknellneuThis is definitely a hotel I'd want to stay at again; check-in was super smooth. The room and bed were really small, but it's newly renovated and has everything you need, plus a nice city view from the window. The price was fantastic, and the location is super convenient – you can walk everywhere you want to go in the city. The only downside is that it's a bit close to the train tracks, so light sleepers might want to bring earplugs. The air conditioning kept showing errors and wasn't working very well.

GGuest UserWe initially booked just two nights at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, but the outstanding service we received made us extend our stay—and I’m so glad we did. The level of attentiveness and genuine care shown by the staff truly elevated our experience. One moment that stood out was during breakfast. My husband asked a staff member at the pastry section whether the items were halal. She explained it to him politely, and to our surprise, about 15 minutes later, the Assistant Director of the restaurant, Mr. Albert, personally came to our table. He took the time to explain the halal options available and even assured us that eggs could be prepared using separate utensils. While I was getting bread, Mr. Albert noticed and came over again, kindly asking if I would like my eggs prepared then. He immediately instructed the chef to prepare eggs and nuggets for me and told me to sit comfortably while he arranged everything to be brought over. His thoughtfulness and proactive service left a lasting impression. It’s rare to see such initiative and care, and it made me feel confident that I had chosen the right hotel. I will definitely recommend Grand Hyatt Melbourne to my family and friends. The hotel is fortunate to have a staff member like Mr. Albert—he truly deserves recognition for his outstanding hospitality.

GGuest UserThis hotel has really let it self down. Last time I stayed. It was wonderful but this time I felt like the reception staff. All the staff was so rude not even friendly. He didn’t smile. What would helpful. I felt like I was in the way the apartments are rundown bit dirty. This overall didn’t like it at all probably won’t go back.

Vvan0ffthewallStayed at Ibis Kingsgate for two weeks as I was here to celebrate my birthday. It is my second time staying here; I also came here last year for two weeks and for my birthday! The hotel is located within a good and safe area - which is great for solo travellers such as myself. I’ve seen families at this hotel too. Ibis Kingsgate is within the free tram zone (you can take the 86 or 96), with access to many amenities nearby such as Coles, Woolies, Southern Cross Station (great for when you have to catch the SkyBus), My Chemist, and a range of food and cafe options. Located at the cross junction of King and Bourke St, the hotel is also walking distance to other popular streets such Elizabeth, Queen, Williams, Colins, Lonsdale, La Trobe, and more! Flinders is nearby too, and you can just cut across to Southbank as well! In fact, you can even walk to Lygon, Docklands or even as far as Collingwood, which I did! If walking is not your thing, there are also many options for trams, trains, and buses near this hotel. Room is adequate and clean, with a nice range of television channels. There’s a fridge, kettle and tea/coffee which is occasionally refilled. Bathroom is good too; sufficient and spacious enough, and for some - there’s even a window in the bathroom! The hotel staff are nice and it’s always great to be back. Thank you for the room upgrade, it made my trip even more special. I returned the gesture by keeping the room as clean and tidy as possible. ;p Until next time! See ya later!

GGuest UserLocation: Can be tricky to find the first time as you need to turn onto Cyril Street. Look across the road for the white building with red writing. Check-in: easy and fast. The man on reception is friendly and organised, just a lovely receptionist. There is a bond of $200; be organised and you’ll save your time and the receptionist’s time. You can pay the bond in cash. Parking: great, BUT there are some permanents living there and so you might want to park away from them… you will see immediately where you should not park :) clean parking area. Seemed organised. Room: very clean, comfortable. There are no knives, forks or plates, but there is a kettle and a microwave. Teas coffees, etc. six milk pods, so maybe bring milk if you need more. Really make sure that you close the door properly or it will seem shut, but not actually be shut and will open :) Good curtains in the room that block out the light from outside. I noticed a fair amount of security cameras outside on the walkway, which was reassuring. Fantastic showers with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The bed is firm, but I liked it. Would or wouldn’t stay again? Unfortunately, no, not while they are acting as ‘crisis accommodation’. The staff and room were great, but there are some undesirables living there who kept us awake all night. Not exaggerating when I say, did not sleep AT ALL. We were up and down to check on the car - the permanents were screaming, fighting - some real Jerry Springer stuff. I was upstairs and the people next to me had a dog that barked all night, in addition to the couple screaming at each other :/ Downstairs, fighting, screaming constantly. it sounded like something got broken downstairs. A guy on a motorbike kept coming and going, visiting the permanents downstairs and talking super loudly, then more yelling and fighting after he tore off on his bike. I didn’t feel safe; I expected the car to get damaged. I realise those people’s behaviour is not the motel’s fault, but I was so tired the next day that I got a migraine and yeah, still fending it off now, day after. Not impressed with those feral permanents. It’s a shame because the staff and rooms are great

SSolomon LoOn 24/6 I ordered fried eggs during breakfast, yet the quality of the eggs were not up to standard, yolk was not normal and with no taste at all, yet I ordered same on the next day with a different chef, that was back to a normal egg, I wondered Sheraton would use such quality of eggs! Another opinion is that gym room facilities are not enough, thanks!

GGuest UserVery easy check in. Instructions by reception were spot on.  The one bedroom apartment was huge. Plenty of room with an equally huge balcony.  The place was clean, apart from one of the towels that had some type of hard black stain that stick do towels to it’s self. Not ideal, but this would be an issue with the laundry company that Quest use.  I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend.
