Nice day trip to Austin 🏛️
#freehotelstay
My visit to the Texas Capitol in Austin left me in awe of both its historical significance and architectural grandeur. Situated in the heart of downtown Austin, this iconic structure is not just a government building but a symbol of Texas pride.
The Capitol's towering dome and pink granite façade immediately catch the eye. Walking through the rotunda and chambers, I was immersed in Texas history, surrounded by portraits, exhibits, and artifacts that tell the story of the Lone Star State.
The lush Capitol grounds with statues, monuments, and beautifully landscaped gardens offer a peaceful escape. The view from the south steps, with the city skyline as a backdrop, is picture-perfect.
Nearby attractions like the Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Blanton Museum of Art add to the cultural richness of the area. Exploring the vibrant streets of downtown Austin, known for its live music scene and eclectic eateries, provided a perfect complement to the Capitol experience.
In summary, the Texas Capitol is a must-visit, seamlessly blending history, architecture, and natural beauty. Its central location and proximity to other attractions make it a cornerstone of any Austin itinerary. 🏛️🤠🎶 #usa #austin #texas
Elisabet Ney Museum 🍁✨
Great small museum for visit even if you are not the sculptures expert, you can enjoy the story of this wonderful talented woman and her husband, loved the interior and atmosphere, you will have a list with names of presented sculptures.
There are many sculptures and paintings to see. There is also an upstairs to visit inside. Be aware that the stairs are narrow. Also outside is great for filming and taking pictures.
The place is well preserved from the old times including the staircases. The chair at the lawn and garden was very peaceful. The building is stunning and you simply must experience the charm of being surrounded by the sculptures. A must see in Austin!

Bullock Texas State History Museum ❤️✨
A wonderful museum filled with Texas history. The best part was seeing the hull of La Salle’s ship the La Belle. It’s incredible. It has interactive features throughout the museum.
The exhibits are engaging for both adults and kids and show different facets of Texas. We especially loved the 3D movie , was very informative and interesting. The museum is designed in a modern and inviting way. A fun trip and unique experience.
The museum staff are attentive and informative, enriching the experience with their knowledge. The Bullock Museum offers a comprehensive and captivating look into the heart of Texas history, making it a must-visit for residents and tourists alike.

Lady Bird Lake Hike & Bike Trail 👣✨
Always enjoy walking along Lady Bird lake watching all the many turtles sun bathing along the edge of the lake, it's nice to see all the people either jogging, walking or on scooters or even riding their bikes on the bike trail enjoying the beautiful view of the lake or the view of downtown Austin.
Sometimes people in bikes are not careful you should be cautious so that they do not hit you, other than that this is a very nice and long trail to enjoy nature in the middle of Austin city.
The view is always great so you never get bored. The whole trail is around the like. It's just an amazing place to run and relax. Overall worth a visit.

capital
Many of Austin's most interesting sights are close to the city center, and you could hit a lot of them in a day or two of dedicated touring. Begin at the Texas State Capitol. While downtown, you should head south on Congress Avenue to East Sixth Street (known locally only as Sixth Street#newyearstravel #
6th street
Step into the right bar on the right night, and you'll find long-haired college students and cowboy-hatters grooving to the same band, just as in the days of old, as well as the computer professionals who have become a part of the social fabric in Austin. To this day, the city defines itself in iconoclastic terms—across town on bumper stickers and T-shirts you'll see the community's unofficial motto: "Keep Austin Weird."
Cosy warm illumination inside, clean, big parking lot that accommates trailers easily. Location is also good for access to Austin's famous 2222 road, and there is an IHOP and a Mexican restaurant within walking right next to it within walking distance. Only slight negative would be the presence of a homeless encampment next to the hotel, but there is awall running for most of the length between the 2, and I didn't see any spillover.

New Braunfels Conservation Society
The New Braunfels Conservation Society is a beautiful complex covering 3.5 acres of space, and its main purpose is to preserve the unique way of life and cultural history of the early settlers to the city.
It is easily one of the top ways to truly understand the city’s past in a deeper way.
The expanse of the New Braunfels Conservation Society is made up of 18 buildings, all historic and telling the tale of 1845 life.
This includes a delightful Bed and Breakfast, a one-room schoolhouse built out of limestone dating back to 1870, and the original genuine Sunday House complete with a genuine outhouse and original heirloom tools.
Other spots within the conservation society are the old-fashioned historic saloon, the working, and very quaint barbershop, a garage that holds an authentic and well-restored 1907 REO automobile, and even Stefan Haelbig’s own music studio.
Architecture enthusiasts will love viewing some of the old fachwerk, five different styles in all, that were used in the city’s earliest days.
The society itself was founded in 1964 as a means of saving the Lindheimer house, which was the most important home of historic significance in the city.
The society slowly raised more and more funds in order to rescue, restore, and even completely move or relocate structures into the 3.5-acre span of the society’s ground.

Hamilton Pool Preserve, Texas
Secret watering holes are a Texas staple, and they don’t get more iconic than this turquoise pond in a box canyon, encircled by a natural stone grotto and fed by a 50-foot waterfall. (Fittingly, it’s actually located in the town of “Dripping Springs,” a 40-minute drive from Austin.) Keep an eye out for pink and yellow chatterbox orchids and golden-cheeked warblers in the surrounding 30,428-acre preserve, and check the website ahead of time if you want to swim—recent falling rocks have caused local authorities to shutter the pool aspect for the current season (we blame 2020).

Fantastic food
I had eaten at a blue sushi restaurant in lincoln before but somehow the one is Austin was an even better food experience. It's vibe is upscale and relaxed. They are known for vegan and vegetarian friendly options as well along with usual options that you'd expect from a sushi place.
The serving staff was very knowledgeable and took time to explain things and it's sourcing. They timely reminded us of what the ingredients were and if we had any allergies. This was my first time enjoying their happy hour. It's a great deal. My sake was $5 and they had 2 sashimi dishes (each at $10!) Both the Truffle Salmon and Yellowtail Serrano Sashimi dishes were excellent. If you can come by sooner. Make the best of the happy hour!

Mount Bonnell offers a stunning view.
Mount Bonnell in Austin, Texas, is a must-visit destination. From here, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of downtown Austin and the beautiful Colorado River. The view from the observation deck, which you reach after climbing 102 steps, is truly breathtaking. The hiking trail is well-maintained, making it easy for anyone to climb, and there are benches for enjoying the scenery. Visiting at sunset is especially appealing as you can witness a fantastic sunset. However, during the summer, it's advisable to bring plenty of water and a hat due to the high temperatures. Mount Bonnell is a short hike that offers great scenery, making it a must-see when visiting Austin.

Brunch on Austin’s Sixth Street
Punch Bowl Social is a local eatery and bar open for a variety of food options during the day, and basement games at night. We chose some appetizers and lunch cocktails. This venue is also LGBTQ-fruendly. It has an Insta-Booth for pARTicipation as well. Prices mid-range, located in the Scarborough building. Nearby food options are a few cantinas. Bike rental and outdoor meeting spots are right out front. #citywalk #austintexas #foodie #lgbtq
Keeping Austin Weird on 6th Street Day or Night
Museum of Weird is a great mid-morning or post-lunch place to punch in while in Austin. Since tbe 6th Street gets a bit wild on the weekends, my son and I were able to brunch, visit, and have a day drink at Cheers afterwards. Creative, Creepy, and Cool, this place embraces the old horror movie and animal spirit vibes of many cultures. The gift shop is both locally and commercially filled with weird things. Sasquatch was a nice add to the mix! Keep being weird! #museums #austintexas #SixthStreet #citywalk #shopping
Texas University & Museum
Our third stop in Texas was Texas University. Here we visited the main square and tower. After that we walked to the Campus museum which is discounted if your a student, elder or military. Next to it is a free mini museum that you see in the photo with the colored window that building is free and really only needs less than 10 minutes inside.
The paid museum is much bigger and has a lot of contemporary art.

Texas State Capital Visit
On our second stop in Austin we visited the state capitol. There is mostly pictures and big rooms to look at. There is also an underground portion where the gift shop is so don’t forget that.
If you like history then this is great as it includes free tours. If you don’t care much for hustle you can do a Quick Look around within 1 hour as the architecture is still something that’s nice to see.

South Congress Hotel
Staying at the South Congress Hotel was a special and exciting experience. Its central location in the heart of Austin's South Congress district made it easy to access tourist attractions, restaurants, and shops. The rooms were modern and luxurious, and I was deeply impressed by the contemporary design and elegant decor. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing excellent and dedicated service. I enjoyed the beautiful pool and wonderful atmosphere in the lobby. The food offered at the restaurant was delicious and varied, leaving a great taste in my mouth. A wonderful stay at a hotel that combines elegance, comfort, and proximity to fantastic attractions.
Don't miss the best sunset viewing spot on your Austin trip
Oasis on Lake Travis is really the best sunset viewing spot in Austin! This hotel-style restaurant located on the top of the mountain has several viewing decks overlooking the entire lake beach and the buildings on the surrounding mountains.
Under normal light, the lake and mountains are unremarkable, but when the weather is good, the sunset sky is splendid, dyeing the lake surface, coupled with the wide view from the top of the mountain, it is very suitable for couples to check in or for besties to take photos.
Austin also has free tours that you must go to!
🌟 Highlights:
The Texas Capitol is designed to mimic the Capitol in Washington, and it's even seven feet taller. I highly recommend viewing the night scene of the Capitol; at night, the entire Capitol looks even more magnificent and spectacular under the lights.
There is a tour every 30 minutes at the Texas Capitol, and you can follow a tour to learn about the history of the Capitol. Before going, you can check the official website to see what events are happening that day. When I went, I just happened to catch a high school choir performance.
Driving along South Congress Ave towards the Capitol, you can get a better and more comprehensive view of the Capitol.
The Capitol has its own parking garage, which is free for the first two hours on weekdays, and a maximum of 12 dollars for the whole day. This price is very cheap for the city.
