The 53rd trip to Xinjiang, the first village in Northwest China - Baihaba.

Baihaba Kanas Scenic Area In Kanas Scenic Area, first come to Kanas Old Village, experience the Tuvan lifestyle, come to the pure and beautiful Kanas River, visit the beautiful scenery of Kanas Lake and Three Bays. At 6 pm, take the scenic area shuttle bus back to the first post of the first village in Northwest China, Baihaba Village, one of the eight most beautiful towns in China. A few years ago, I heard from a friend about his experience of coming to Baihaba Village, and I have been thinking about seeing his true face. When I arrived at the village in the morning, I was in a hurry to go to Kanas Lake, and I missed him by a hair's breadth. I booked a homestay in the village and stayed in Baihaba Village to see this handsome and peaceful village. Baihaba Village is located in the Altai Mountains, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, dense forests and clear rivers. Baihaba Village is smaller than Kanas Old Village, and it is also one of the three major Tuva villages in China. Tuvans live here, as well as a small number of Han and Kazakhs. Baihaba Village is located in Tiezhekty Township, Habihe County, Altay Region, on the border between China and Kazakhstan. You can see the border post not far away. Living here is like living in a paradise sealed by time. Wooden houses, livestock pens enclosed by each household, haystacks piled up, pine forests and distant mountains, cattle, sheep and horses all over the hillside, depicting a beautiful yearning life. Baihaba Village is a village where primitive natural ecology and ancient traditional culture are integrated, and everything still retains its original appearance for hundreds of years. The village is located in a valley, built on a narrow terrace between two streams, leaning against the mountain and water. All the buildings in the village are made of logs, with the ancient and simple log cabin as the landmark, featuring European village characteristics. The houses are all pointed-roof log cabins, with walls and ceilings built and spliced with whole logs, and the top is supported by wooden boards to form a "human" shaped pointed roof, which can prevent rain and snow to ensure the safety of the house. There is a ventilated gable between the ceiling and the roof, which is a good place to store feed and air-dry meat. Each household in the house is like a handicraft exhibition hall, with a flower blanket on the kang, embroidered curtains and tapestries on the wall, and a refined stove in the center of the floor. In the evening of the setting sun and the morning of the mist, the smoke curls and drifts, cattle and sheep are all over the hillside, and the whole village depicts a landscape painting of harmony between man and nature. In recent years, with the development of tourism, the village has also been expanding. When we went there, houses were being built everywhere in the village. Now the whole village is divided into Baihaba Village 1 (also known as Old Village) and Baihaba Village 2 (also known as New Village). Now, most of the herdsmen in Baihaba Village no longer live by nomadic life, but have taken on the new rice bowl of tourism. Every household has opened a guesthouse, restaurant, bar or shop. A red flag hangs in front of the door, which not only shows patriotic enthusiasm, but also is a conspicuous mark. Tourists can see the red flag and know that they have arrived at the guesthouse. Asphalt roads lead to the doorsteps of the herdsmen. Due to the narrow roads, only local herdsmen's small cars are allowed to enter the village, and tourists' cars are not allowed to enter the village. They can only be parked in the New Village parking lot. To facilitate tourists' sightseeing, the village has opened a bus service. The free bus shuttles back and forth in the village, leading tourists to visit the Old Village and New Village. The history of Baihaba Village can be traced back to the 12th century AD, when Genghis Khan's westward expedition passed through here. Baihaba is a gathering place for Tuvans, a branch of the Mongols, who retain their unique language, customs and religious beliefs. Baihaba's houses are typical Tuvan wooden houses, which are simple and elegant, scattered on the grassy hillside, forming a beautiful picture. The scenic spots in Baihaba Village include "Sky Grassland", which is the largest grassland in Baihaba Village. It is surrounded by mountains and forests, forming a "treasure basin". Looking out, a straight asphalt road runs through the grassland, like a jade belt inlaid on the grassland. You can also ride a horse from the village to the Sky Grassland. There is also "Baihaba Observation Deck", which requires a walk on a plank road from the back mountain to the observation deck. You can overlook the whole view of Baihaba and the rolling snow-capped mountains. Another is "Baihaba Stone Tablet", located at the entrance of the village. The stone tablet is engraved with the words "Baihaba" and "Northwest First Village", which is a good place to take photos.
