Harbin Polarland: A Magical Journey to the Polar World

As a travel-loving self-media person, every new journey is an exploration of the soul. This time, I came to Harbin, known as the "Ice City," and Harbin Polarland became the most memorable stop of my trip. As soon as I stepped into the Polarland, I felt like I was instantly transported to the distant polar world. The design of the museum is ingenious, simulating the polar ecological environment, from the cold glaciers to the deep sea, every detail is immersive. Exciting Activities 1. Beluga Show: This is definitely the signature program of the Polarland 🐋. Two lovely belugas swim gracefully in the water, cooperating tacitly with the trainers to perform various amazing actions. They sometimes leap high, splashing crystal clear water; sometimes spin in the water, like agile fairies. The most touching part is the interaction between the belugas and the trainers, the trust and intimacy, making every audience present feel the beauty of harmony between animals and humans. 2. Sea Lion and Walrus Show: The sea lions have a natural comedic charm as soon as they appear, twisting their round bodies and waving enthusiastically to the audience 🙋‍♀️. The walrus performance is even more hilarious, with its huge body rolling flexibly in the water and using its nose to balance a ball while doing various funny actions. During the performance, the trainers invite the audience to interact on stage, and the lucky ones can have close contact with these adorable marine animals, adding more joy and surprise to the show. 3. Penguin Walk: Watching a group of little penguins waddle, my heart melts 🐧. The Polarland has a special area for visitors to watch penguins up close, where you can see them swimming quickly in the water and then clumsily walking on land with their short legs. Sometimes, they even curiously stare at the visitors, as if having a silent conversation with everyone. Recommended Accommodation I chose to stay at the "Atour Hotel Harbin Polarland." The reasons for my choice are as follows: the hotel is conveniently located, just a few minutes' walk from the Polarland, making it easy to return to the hotel for a rest after a day of fun. The hotel has an elegant environment, clean and tidy rooms, complete facilities, and thoughtful service, making me feel at home during my tiring journey. Convenient Transportation Guide From Harbin Taiping International Airport, you can take the airport bus line 4, get off at the Sun Island entrance station, and then transfer to a bus or taxi to the Polarland, which takes about 1.5 hours in total. If you choose to take the train, both Harbin Station and Harbin West Station have direct bus routes to the Polarland, making transportation very convenient. Must-Try Food 1. Lao Chu Jia: This is a restaurant with a strong Harbin flavor. The signature dish "Guo Bao Rou" is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, sweet and sour, and full of happiness with every bite. There's also "De Mo Li Stewed Fish," with tender fish and rich broth, and the vermicelli inside absorbs the fish's freshness, making it super delicious. 2. Hua Mei Western Restaurant: A restaurant full of Russian style, "Canned Beef" is a must-order dish, with beef stewed to a tender and flavorful state, paired with rich tomato broth, creating a rich taste. The "Borscht" is also very authentic, sweet and sour, and appetizing, making you feel like you're in Russia with every bite. 3. Zhang Bao Pu: Famous for its rib buns, with soft bun skin and juicy meat filling, and the rich aroma of ribs. Paired with a bowl of steaming porridge, it's simply perfect. Other Must-Visit Places Besides the Polarland, there are many other places worth visiting in Harbin. For example, "Central Street," with exotic buildings lining both sides of the street, making you feel like you're in Europe while strolling. Here, you can taste various specialty foods, such as Madieer popsicles and grilled red sausages. "Ice and Snow World" is also a must-see, with its dazzling lights at night and various ice sculptures creating a dreamlike fairy tale world. Precautions ⚠️ 1. Harbin's winter temperature is low, so be sure to keep warm and bring enough thick down jackets, hats, gloves, scarves, etc. 2. The temperature inside the Polarland is low, especially in areas where you watch polar animals like penguins, so it's recommended to bring a lightweight thick coat. 3. When watching performances, arrive at the venue early and choose a good spot for a better viewing experience. 4. When tasting food, eat in moderation to avoid overeating and affecting subsequent activities. This trip to Harbin Polarland not only allowed me to get close to adorable polar animals and feel their charm but also let me taste authentic Harbin food and experience the unique style of this city.
