First, the weather is neither cold nor hot, perfect for taking kids out to play without having to bundle up, so the kids are comfortable. Second, since this is a tourist city, hotels are very competitive, and many family-friendly hotel facilities are very thoughtful. Third, animals like peacocks and elephants are very popular with children. At Manting Royal Garden, you can pay to feed the elephants and touch their trunks, which is a great experience. Also, I personally love Thai food and Dai-style barbecue. Although the food here isn’t super amazing, it definitely satisfies your cravings. I think one key point is that although Xishuangbanna still has many people during the off-season, compared to the peak season, the relaxed atmosphere is really at its fullest. To be honest, there are still many people, but it’s acceptable. Finally, when it’s cold everywhere in December, taking your kids to a warm place is really comfortable! Having lived in Hainan Island for six years, I tend to prefer Xishuangbanna as a warm destination.
