In addition to West Street, this lesser-known ancient village in Quanzhou is worth a visit. 🔺It is on the same route as the "Buddhist Kingdom on the Sea" Luojia Temple. You can visit here in the morning and Luojia Temple in the afternoon. 🏛️The ancient village was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of 600 years. It was built by early overseas Chinese who returned to their hometowns. It has traditional Minnan-style ancient houses, ancient Roman-style Western-style buildings, and a combination of Chinese and Western Gothic-style buildings. The history and culture here are a complete slice of the history of the South Seas. After countless storms, it still stands quietly here. Every corner has a different view. ▪️Chaodong Building Start your tour of the village here. There is a village history exhibition in the building. The whole building is a three-story Western-style building, consisting of the main building, the auxiliary building, and the dome gate on the right. The chairs and door heads in the courtyard are great for taking photos. ▪️Gun Tower Also known as the "Xiuyang Building", you can climb up the building to overlook the ancient village. It was also a fortress for the villagers to defend the village. The outer wall clearly shows the bullet holes from many years ago (there is a fee to go upstairs now). ▪️Qiaopi Museum Also known as the "Shunyi Building", it is currently the post office building. It is a Spanish-style building made of Minnan red bricks.
