There are always many couples hanging out by the river and it’s a very peaceful environment. Take a drink and stay to watch sunset and see the lights when it gets dark. 📍 Take an evening walk around the city. Late at night there are almost no tourists around, especially at the temples. At Kiyomizu-dera at 10pm, I only saw two other people! 📍 Arashiyama is a 30 minute metro ride to the West of Kyoto. It feels like its own little magical world, with the bamboo forest to explore and then walking along the river too.
