Munich - The Splendid Nymphenburg Palace

If you visit Munich, you should take half a day to explore Nymphenburg Palace. It's easily accessible from the city center by public transport like trams, taking about 20 to 30 minutes. Nymphenburg Palace was built by the Bavarian Wittelsbach family starting in 1664. Before entering the palace, you'll walk along a tree-lined path with a large pond in the center, where swans and ducks swim freely. As you proceed, you'll reach the main hall where you can buy tickets and beautiful souvenirs. I really liked their souvenir designs and bought some for friends. You can also browse around. In Nymphenburg Palace, I visited the following places: - The main hall of the palace, which features a grand hall adorned in white and gold. Although it can't compare to other grand palaces, the colorful wall paintings make it feel very stylish and timeless. Additionally, there's a Gallery of Beauties and the Queen's quarters, both worth seeing. - Due to the rain, we first visited the Carriage Museum, which showcases royal carriages and various decorations. It was my first time seeing royal carriages, and they were truly luxurious and grand, very different from ordinary carriages. However, I preferred the design of the winter sleds, which were very intricate. - Finally, when the weather cleared up, we walked through the palace gardens. The garden is quite large with fountains, and you can pay for a boat ride on the lake. But I was more interested in visiting a pavilion called The Pagodenburg Pavilion. According to the guide, it's designed like a Chinese pagoda, with the first floor decorated with Dutch blue tiles and the second floor with Chinese painted screens. The local guide mentioned that in the past, traveling to Eastern countries was only possible by sea, so having Eastern decorations at home was very precious and a way for the wealthy to show off. A tip for everyone: be careful while walking in the garden as you might step on bird droppings scattered around :)
