Todai-ji, an ancient temple in Nara, is home to many historical buildings designated as national treasures and important cultural properties. While there are many highlights, the Great Buddha Hall, the main hall, is a must-visit. The Great Buddha, standing at approximately 48 meters tall and 57 meters wide, is awe-inspiring and impressive. It is one of the largest wooden structures in the world and was designated as a national treasure in 1952. The Nandaimon, the largest two-story gate in Japan, is also designated as a national treasure.
