Lugu Lake is the highest lake in Yunnan and one of the deepest freshwater lakes in China. The natural scenery here is unique, with clear blue lake water, surrounded by mountains, and a unique Mosuo culture. It is a tourist destination that is well worth a visit. Lugu Lake has different scenery in different seasons, and is suitable for tourism all year round. The climate is warm and pleasant, and the lake is full of flowers, making it a great time to enjoy the beautiful scenery. 📍｜Lugu Lake, ticket 70 yuan 🚗｜3 hours by car from Lijiang 🐦｜Seagull feeding season: November-March 🏞️｜Lugu Lake is not high at 2690 meters above sea level, and generally does not cause altitude sickness. ✅【My lake tour route】 Langfang Wharf - Pulu Wharf - Grass Sea - Marriage Bridge - Xiaoluoshui - Ligge Observation Deck - Daluoshui - Lugu Lake Observation Deck Lugu Lake is not big, and you can visit it all in 2 days and 1 night by car/private car. 🚢【Things to note about taking a boat to see the sunrise and morning mist】 ① Morning mist does not occur every day. After consulting various sources, morning mist requires: high humidity + large temperature difference + no wind. Generally, if it rains the day before and it clears up the next day, there is a high probability of morning mist. So be sure to check the weather forecast. ② Arrive at the boat dock 20 minutes before sunrise. It takes some time to row the boat to the center of the lake. ③ Before taking the boat, you can ask the boatman if there will be morning mist. They are more experienced. ④ Prepare enough small bread. After the boat goes out, you can feed the seagulls all the way. The boatman also sells small fish, which are not worth 10 yuan a bag. ⑤ It is very cold before sunrise in the morning, remember to keep warm from head to toe! 🐦【Seagull feeding photo spots】 ① You can feed seagulls at all the docks. ② Lover's Beach, there are many seagulls and people here. You can choose an angle to take a photo. 🏠【About accommodation】 We stayed at the Anshan Mountain and Resort Hotel, where we could enjoy stunning lake views from the balcony of our room. The loft room on the 3rd floor also has a skylight, so you can see the stars at night. If you want to stay for a few more days, you can also try another "Anshan" hotel in Daluo Shui Village, just across the road from Lugu Lake, where you can feed seagulls directly in the morning. 😮 For a good meal, I recommend "Qi Fan Private Kitchen", ✅ Wild mushroom fried bacon, mint ribs are a must.
