When traveling to Rome, Italy, a must-see Western-style building is definitely the Vatican Museums. The interior is incredibly beautiful and luxurious, with numerous collections. You can tell that the artists put a lot of effort into each piece. It's truly impressive, especially considering the limited technology available at the time. It's hard to imagine how much time they spent creating these works. In short, highly recommended.
