Palace of Versailles

A first time trip to Paris requires a visit to the Palace of Versailles to learn how French royalty once indulged. There are frequent trains from Paris to Versailles, and then there is a short trek to the palace grounds (recommend to purchase all tickets online). Inside the palace are amazing displays of gold and artwork, showcasing the opulence and wealth of the former French empire.
