Scotland's Gretna Green and England's Lake Windermere!

In 1772, the first marriage certificate was issued here, making it a paradise for runaways. Today, the town hosts more than 5,000 weddings a year, with one in six Scottish weddings taking place here. Lake Windermere is located in the Lake District of Cumbria in northwestern England and is the largest natural lake in England. It was formed at the end of the last ice age and is located in a glacial valley that runs through the Cumbrian Mountains. The lake is long and narrow, about 17 km long and 1.6 km wide, covering an area of 16 square kilometers, with a depth of 64 meters at its deepest point. Surrounded by high mountains, Lake Windermere has a mild climate and is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in England. The best way to enjoy the lake and mountains is by boat.
