Yongtai - Lian Kui Tower.

Lian Kui Tower is located on Xishan Mountain opposite the county seat of Yongtai County, Fujian Province. It was built in the 11th year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1831) to commemorate the three top scholars in the Southern Song Dynasty from the second to the eighth year of Qiandao. The tower is an all-stone structure, octagonal, seven-story hollow pavilion-style building, with a spiral stone ladder inside the tower leading directly to the top of the tower, stone carvings of civil officials guarding the gate, stone carvings of Buddha niches and railings on each floor, with the architectural style of the mid-Qing Dynasty. The tower base is 16.4 meters in circumference and 21 meters high. It was rebuilt in 1986, with stone structure, imitation pavilion style, octagonal, seven-story, 21 meters high, stone step platform base, each side is 20.05 meters long, surrounded by railings. There are stone steps inside the tower leading to the top of the tower. Each floor has a door connected to the stone steps, and the outer wall of the tower body is equipped with Buddha niches, each with a stone carved Buddha statue. Each floor has a flat seat railing. There are stone carvings of tower gods (civilian clothing) guarding the tower gate on the ground floor, and the tower body is divided into layers, with a gourd-shaped tower brake.
