Qifu Temple

Qifu Temple is located in Nanshiweng Village, Liushukou Town, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province. It was originally named 'Erxian Temple,' derived from the legend of two celestial beings riding horses and flying here. Qifu Temple is situated on Lotus Mountain, between the Dan River and Jue Mountain. It was first built in the late Yuan Dynasty (around 1505-1510). The temple houses the largest Erxian mural in Jincheng City. In 2009, the main hall was rebuilt, and the Buddha statues were remade. A new Five Directions Buddha Hall was constructed, and five 4.5-meter-high bronze statues of the Five Directions Buddhas were cast. Additionally, 28 bronze statues were cast, including the statues of Avalokitesvara, Medicine Buddha, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Skanda Bodhisattva, Guardian Bodhisattva, the Three Western Saints, Island Avalokitesvara, the 53 Visits of Sudhana, and the Eighteen Arhats. On May 15, 2011, the overall renovation of Qifu Temple was completed. The entire temple is built along the mountain, with a well-arranged layout, magnificent and splendid, becoming a major local attraction. Opening hours: 9:00-17:00 Ticket price: Free Transportation: 50 kilometers from Jincheng City, self-driving is recommended.
