Magnificent landscape

Zhangjiakou was an important military town in ancient times, with the Dajingmen Great Wall standing between two mountains to guard this crucial pass. On the gate of the pass, there are four vigorous characters 'Magnificent Landscape', which is a famous landmark of Zhangjiakou and often appears in movies and TV shows. Between the two gates, there is an ancient-style pedestrian street reminiscent of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It has an antique charm but is very quiet with few tourists. There are also several temples here. The Dajingmen scenic area is free of charge, but climbing the Great Wall costs 12 yuan, and it is free for those over 70 years old. There is a paid parking lot outside the scenic area.
