I got lost in Zhuge Bagua Village
I found Zhuge Bagua Village on the map at noon and decided to drive there to take a look. The highlight of Zhuge Village is the Yin-Yang Tai Chi shaped pool in the center of the village, and the entire village is constructed according to the Bagua layout.
Most villagers have the surname Zhuge, claiming to be descendants of Zhuge Liang, so naturally, there is a temple dedicated to him. Zhuge Liang is revered by the people, and I think it's because of his loyalty, diligence, and integrity. Objectively speaking, Zhuge Liang was in charge of the military affairs of the Shu state and was not good at civil administration. His six expeditions to Qishan also imposed heavy corvée and military service on the common people, but it seems that the people do not mind these. I suddenly remembered the distribution principle of 'efficiency first, with due consideration to fairness' proposed under the market economy system. Perhaps in the traditional Chinese social moral system, what is more advocated is 'fairness first, with due consideration to efficiency'.
The main attractions of Zhuge Bagua Village include Zhong Pool, the Prime Minister's Temple, Dagong Hall, and the Hundred Herbs Ecology Garden, etc. Zhong Pool is the central landmark of the entire village, with eight alleys extending in all directions, leading directly to eight tall earth mounds outside the village, resembling a Bagua diagram from above. The alleys give rise to many transverse interconnected narrow lanes, with thousands of households and many ancient residential buildings scattered like stars in the sky.
Zhuge Bagua Village has undulating terrain, with ancient buildings closely packed and stretching continuously. Residential houses and temples are scattered at different heights, with alleys and lanes crisscrossing, and secluded paths winding through them. Stone carvings, brick carvings, and wood carvings are ingeniously conceived and exquisitely crafted. White walls and grey tiles, flying eaves and upturned corners, small courtyards with corridors, rocks and flowers, and bamboo groves all display the graceful charm of the Suzhou style. The Prime Minister's Temple is majestic and spectacular. The philosophy of 'Admonitions to My Son' enlightens people, and its noble spirit nurtures them. The Bagua formation diagram fully demonstrates the ability and wisdom of the ancestors.

I stumbled upon a treasure trove of an ancient village, which turned out to be a TV filming location
After deciding to find a midway stop to rest for the night on the way back, I chose this place. Since it was night when I arrived, I couldn't see much and only felt that the ancient town was very quiet, without the noise typical of tourist areas, and surprisingly there were no tourists during the Qingming holiday. It wasn't until the next morning when I stepped out of the guesthouse that I was truly captivated by the beauty of this ancient village. It was only while wandering through the streets and alleys that I learned this was the filming location for 'The Great Ming Under the Microscope'.
📢 Attraction Introduction:
⭕️ Zhuge Bagua Village is the largest known settlement of the descendants of Zhuge Liang to date.
⭕️ Originally named Gaolong Village, the village is shaped like the bottom of a pot, with the middle low and the surrounding areas high, forming a pond at the center. This is the core of Bagua Village and also the base point of the 'Eight Trigrams Formation'. Half of the pond is water, and the other half is land, resembling the Tai Chi symbol.
⭕️ Centered around Zhong Pond, there are eight alleys extending outward, leading directly to eight earthen mounds outside the village, resembling the eight trigrams.
⭕️ Zhuge Bagua Village in Zhuge Town not only has a unique layout, but the ancient residential buildings in the town are also very rare. The town was originally built during the Song and Yuan dynasties, with subsequent additions and renovations, reaching its peak during the Qing Kangxi and Qianlong eras.
⭕️ The town preserves more than two hundred ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. At its peak, there were eighteen different types of ancestral halls in the town, most of which were ornately decorated. The Grand Hall and the Prime Minister's Ancestral Hall are among the most outstanding.
⏱️ Recommended duration of visit: About 3 hours
🎫 Ticket information: 85 RMB per person
⏰ Opening hours: 07:30~17:00
🅿️ Parking information: There is a parking lot at the entrance of the scenic area, 10 RMB per time
📷 Recommended spots:
1️⃣ Zhong Pond: Half water and half land, with two wells in the middle. This is the very pond featured on the poster of the TV series 'The Great Ming Under the Microscope'.
2️⃣ Prime Minister's Ancestral Hall: The hall contains many Dongyang wood carvings, which are exquisitely crafted and lifelike. The hall's wooden beams are carved with scenes of the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, as well as Lei Zhenzi and Yuwen Chengdu. It is said that the villagers handed over the ancestral hall to the government to be used as a granary, and the sculptures were preserved to this day by being wrapped in lime and mud.
🏠 Accommodation recommendation: We stayed at 👉 Lanxi Yuzhan Guesthouse
The landlord said that the guesthouse was his family's ancestral home, with a pharmacy and a pawnshop, probably the most beautiful guesthouse in the village. The guesthouse is quite large, even with a swimming pool, which must be very enjoyable in summer. Oh, and the guesthouse is one of only two places in the entire town that sells coffee.
🥗 Dining recommendation:
Due to the town's pristine nature, there aren't many dining options, and the taste is more or less the same. 👉 You can try the Old Street Restaurant
⚠️ Notes:
1️⃣ It is recommended to hire a guide for explanations, as it is an ancient village with many interesting stories;
2️⃣ Good food and drink are unlikely, as there is basically no commercial development, and there were hardly any tourists even during the Qingming festival, so you might want to try your luck during the May Day holiday;
3️⃣ After business hours at night, you can drive directly into the village parking lot and park for free

The World's Most Gossip-Filled Village - Zhuge Village | Autumn is in full swing
| Autumn is in full swing. Beyond the bustling exterior of Zhuge Bagua Village lies the ancient town
With white walls and black tiles, and houses along the flowing water
Time to take note, how to enter the scenic spot for free!!!
Tickets for Zhuge Bagua Village are 90 yuan on the day of purchase, and 85 yuan if bought in advance. In reality, it's just a village, and personally, I'm not very interested in architecture or old houses. However, I know that places like this, where the scenic spot and the residents are not completely separated, usually have a free entrance. I casually asked the restaurant owner during lunch, and sure enough!!!
Ladies, follow my route, first navigate to 'Zhuge Middle School', and then at a three-way intersection before reaching the middle school, turn right for the middle school, and turn left for the parking lot shown in picture one
After strolling around, I feel that this lunch was worth it. Honestly, if such a scenic spot charged me 90 yuan, it would feel like a bit of a rip-off, as there's not much fun inside, maybe I just don't appreciate it
Lastly, I went during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays in 2023. I was able to get in smoothly during this 8-day holiday, so I believe the supervision is even less strict on normal days. Sisters who want to visit Jinhua, come and take advantage of this

The west line scenic area includes Longfeng Zen Temple and a hundred grass ecological park, where you can watch animals and participate in some traditional Chinese medicine related experience projects. Self-driving Lanxi Lantern Festival
We Shanghai people do not put firecrackers in the New Year, there is no custom, the whole city is empty, watching everyone full screen home for the New Year seems to be another world. So I came to Zhejiang ancient village by car and looked for the long-lost year.
This ancient village located in Lanxi, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province is named Zhuge Bagua Village. It is naturally a gathering place of Zhuge descendants. The whole village has special topography, low outside and high inside. There is a pond in the center with a gossip shape. Eight paths, the houses are in a gossip array, wonderful.
Ancient villages nowadays every household manages the homestays and farmhouse restaurants. The night falls very busy. There are people on the roads to eat at the table. The neighborhoods are also very harmonious. The gates are open to the streets, playing cards, chatting, eating snacks everywhere. . . There are also tourists from our city who are looking for it. Kongming Lock and Kongming Lantern in the commissary were particularly popular. We saw that everyone made a serious wish to light the lights, and we couldnt help but buy one.
LiAn.
This is an ancient village with cultural heritage, simplicity and tranquility. Today, there are still many elderly people living in the village, strolling along the Qingshiban Road, can see the divination, selling pictures and selling words, as well as selling some such as Zhuge Lian , Zhuge Yu fan, Kong Mingsuo and other gadgets. The village is not too big. It takes about an hour or two to walk around. It takes about half a day to walk around the alleys in the village. The Zhuge Bagua Village is not only unique in its layout, but also the ancient dwellings in the town. According to relevant records, the town was built in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, and the descendants have continued to build and renovate. The town preserves more than 200 ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, scattered among the alleys of the town, the original, the ancient style still exists.
niuge.
There is no such thing as a thousand worlds. There is a labyrinth village in Lanxi, Zhejiang. This village is called Zhuge Bagua Village and was built by Zhuge Liangs descendants. The entire village was built according to the Taoist array of Taoist temples. During the walk, it was like walking into the maze. The houses of the
Zhuge Bagua Village are opposite in face and back, and the streets are distributed along the central pond. It seems that there is a road but unconsciously will go to the road, taking into account the function of the house and the function of preventing flooding. There are often thieves who can only get rid of their hands because they get lost. In addition, because there are many firewalls in the residential areas and there are reservoirs in the villages, the fire performance of Bagua Village is excellent!
The first ancestor of Zhuge's family was the Zhuge Liang, a generation of military officers from the Three Kingdoms period. It was passed to the Zhuge lion. It was in the middle of the Yuan Dynasty. The Zhuge bearing family, including the Zhuge lion, carefully managed the Chinese medicine industry in Zhuge Bagua Village and quickly developed into a place. The family has accumulated a lot of wealth. The pattern of Zhuge Bagua Village was laid at that time.
Zhuge Bagua Village was built during the Song and Yuan Dynasties. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were many expansions, continuations and reconstructions. In addition to the Feng Shui flood control function, the village also retained many exquisite Huizhou dwellings. The feng shui pattern of the
Zhuge Bagua Village is divided into the Eight Diagrams and the Outer Eight Diagrams. The eight hills surrounding the village are shaped like the Eight Diagrams. The village buildings and eight streets respond to each other, and the central area resembles the Taiji Yinyang fish. Zhongchi, forming the inner gossip.
Because it has not been over-exploited, Zhuge Bagua Village has maintained a simple folk style and a relatively quiet living atmosphere, which is especially suitable for casual exploration!
WUXIPENG.
The most peculiar thing about Zhuge Bagua Village is that its layout is exquisite and mysterious. Looking down from the sky, the whole village is in the shape of a gossip. The distribution of houses and streets is exactly the same as the Zhuge Liang Jiugong Eight Diagrams.
clock pool
The village has a low level in the middle of the terrain, and the surrounding area is getting higher and higher, forming a pond. Zhongchi is the core of Zhuge Bagua Village and the base point of the "eight-figure map". It is not big, but there is water on the half of the pond and half on the side. It is like the Taiji in the Jiugong Bagua map. It is wonderful.
Zhuge Da Shi uses his exquisite knowledge of Feng Shui, carefully designed the layout of the entire Bagua Village according to the concept of Jiugong and Gossip: with Zhongchi as the core, eight lanes radiate outward, forming the inner gossip; There are just eight hills outside the village, forming an encirclement and forming an outside gossip.
YAO SHUN.
Going to Zhuge Bagua Village, in fact, because of a sentence, Zhuge Bagua Village is the largest settlement of Zhuge Liang descendants discovered so far. This sentence makes the whole village rich in mystery! The terrain of
Zhuge Bagua Village is like the bottom of the pot, the middle is low, and the surrounding is getting higher. The four sides come to the water and gather at the bottom of the pot to form a pond. This is the bell pool. Zhongchi is the core of Zhuge Bagua Village and the base point of the eight-figure map. Zhuge Bagua Village is not big, but this pond has water on one side and half on the side. It is like the Taiji in the Jiugong Bagua map. It is wonderful. The alleys close to the Zhongchi are relatively straight, and they tend to twist when they extend outwards. Many of the alleys are connected vertically and horizontally, which seems to pass through, like a maze. Outsiders enter the alleys, often getting in and out, or even losing their way.
