A cosy family-friendly enchanted hideaway in the mountains with the clouds. The whole place seems to have been a long-time passion in creating the most charming and comfortable inn from conception to realisation with both the exterior and interior decorated in either a rustic country cottage or a European apartment style from the last century. We were so happy here and my child especially appreciated the room and all of its surroundings.
Every nook and cranny of the place is excellently utiilised. From the dining room as well as the main outside eatery balcony, one has a beautiful view of the mountainside in all its greenery with butterflies flitting amongst flowers. Don't forget to check out the third story balconies and the library. Screen projector fittings are in place for a medium-sized conference. The place even has a couple of majiang table nooks should you want to play with friends.
The surrounding forest environment of the inn is all sorts of paths and green terraces going off in different directions. There is a playpark for children with its own pedal-powered mini-roller coaster and other items for children to climb on.
There is an off-site pond and ancient stone bridge nearby. One can take a short hike up the driveway and explore the diverging walking track paths. There's also an ecological technology exhibition centre not far up the road from the inn.
A large portion of the clientele when we were there were day trip visitors in family and friend groups. Big tables as well as KTV facilities could be booked for the day.
The food quality is fantastic and the portions generous. There are no nearby shops so all meals are taken in-house; the staff will consult you about when and what is on offer from the extensive menu. You can specify whether you'd want your food spicy or not when possible depending on the dish.
The genuinely friendly and accomodating staff take such good care of you and step in whenever they feel you may need some assistance. My child had a bad cough at the time, and they were so kind bringing her hot drinks with honey and offering medicine they happened to have there.
My Chinese is not good, but with a standard translation app, you're able to communicate what you need and the staff are so obliging to help. They genuinely do seem to be happy to be working there, and cudos and credit it to the owner for taking such good care of the staff that they in turn carry it over to their care for their guests. It was a pleasure to meet them and the owner.

windtraceI had a long layover in Chongqing and booked a stay at Fengtang Hotel. Its central location in the scenic area made it incredibly convenient to get around. They also offer complimentary coffee and bar vouchers, which were a nice touch for a relaxing drink. I especially want to highlight their complimentary photography service. I initially thought it would just be three casual snaps, but Haifeng, the photographer, was amazing! Not only did he take fantastic photos, but he also acted as a tour guide, pointing out attractions along the way. In a city like Chongqing, where it's easy to get lost, having a guide and photographer was an absolute lifesaver. It was the perfect way to spend a day exploring!

Staying here felt like being welcomed into the home of a deeply cultured family. The décor is a beautiful, personal curation: art and personal book collection, vintage porcelain, silk cushions, and carefully chosen artworks.
Nothing feels excessive or staged. Every object has intention behind it — a celadon vase here, a bronze figurine there — and yet the overall feeling is one of warmth and ease, not a museum. The rooms are serene, the linens impeccable, and the little touches — embroidered pillow slips, a hand-painted watercolour above the bed — speak of a host who genuinely cares.
The lady boss is a gracious and soft spoken lady. She offers just the right amount of company and showed us the warmth of Gongtan residents through her actions and food.
This is not just a place to sleep. It is a place that stays with you.

The room facilities are relatively new, and all the linens are fresh. Downstairs, you'll find Jiefangbei and Hongyadong, making it very convenient for transportation, especially with the subway entrance nearby. The navigation was accurate and easy to use. I'll definitely come back.

The hotel is located right in the center of town. However, be aware that guest rooms are only on the 3rd floor; the first and second floors are currently under construction. It is very noisy during the day if you plan on resting then, though nighttime is fine. Many surrounding buildings are also under renovation as the area is transitioning from old businesses to new ones. Note that the photos on Trip.com were likely taken several years ago.
Breakfast is served as a set meal at a separate restaurant located just next door. >
That said, the service is excellent. During our stay, construction workers accidentally cut a cable that knocked out the heater for the entire building. After we complained, the receptionist worked tirelessly, coordinating with the workers to ensure the hot water was restored by 9 PM as promised. He also helped us arrange transport.
Regarding location, it’s a short walk to the tourist center where buses depart for Wulong Karst Mountain. These buses leave once full, so there is no exact timetable, but they start around 8:30 AM. While the immediate vicinity of the hotel is a bit quiet, the newer buildings across from the tourist center offer plenty of dining options.

Guest UserTraveling to Chongqing with two other families and our kids, booking this three-bedroom apartment was definitely the right choice! The rooms were spotlessly clean, and it came fully equipped with a washing machine, a full-length mirror, and a projector. Each family had their own private space without feeling cramped. We could walk to Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave, and there were tons of local snack shops and restaurants downstairs to choose from. The host was incredibly warm and patient. We all felt so comfortable and at ease during our stay. Highly recommend this for families traveling together!

Guest UserI visited Chongqing for the May Day holiday. To my surprise, the prices hadn't increased, which might be because I booked so far in advance. They upgraded my room, and it was really spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows. The cleanliness was excellent; I even used a lint roller, and there was hardly any dust. The only downside is that the location is a bit out of the way, but there are some street food stalls nearby for late-night snacks, which was a nice bonus.

Posted on Jan 16, 2025|Panorama Room - 4-Room, River-View (4 Beds) (French Window, Mahjong)
Jo TehThe property could benefit from some updates and maintenance. One of the queen bedrooms was converted from a balcony, making it extremely cold during winter. Additionally, the heater in one of the rooms next to the hall was not working, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep through the night.
The bathroom in one of the rooms remained choked throughout our stay, and overall, the bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The kitchen also lacked proper cleanliness, which was disappointing.
On a positive note, the view from the hall was decent, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the shortcomings in comfort and cleanliness.

AskeRMThe best hotel we’ve experienced in China. We are budget travelers by all means but this was just insane for the price. Maybe because we visited in early December, but we were immediately upgraded
from a single queen bed room to a double queen bed with river view room. The cleanliness was top notch and the amenities were nice too. Thank you very much

The room with the shared bathroom - the room itself was ok, but the shared toilet was absolutely filthy. I added another 20 yuan to change to a room with private bathroom. That room was acceptable
