A cosy family-friendly enchanted hideaway in the mountains with the clouds. The whole place seems to have been a long-time passion in creating the most charming and comfortable inn from conception to realisation with both the exterior and interior decorated in either a rustic country cottage or a European apartment style from the last century. We were so happy here and my child especially appreciated the room and all of its surroundings.
Every nook and cranny of the place is excellently utiilised. From the dining room as well as the main outside eatery balcony, one has a beautiful view of the mountainside in all its greenery with butterflies flitting amongst flowers. Don't forget to check out the third story balconies and the library. Screen projector fittings are in place for a medium-sized conference. The place even has a couple of majiang table nooks should you want to play with friends.
The surrounding forest environment of the inn is all sorts of paths and green terraces going off in different directions. There is a playpark for children with its own pedal-powered mini-roller coaster and other items for children to climb on.
There is an off-site pond and ancient stone bridge nearby. One can take a short hike up the driveway and explore the diverging walking track paths. There's also an ecological technology exhibition centre not far up the road from the inn.
A large portion of the clientele when we were there were day trip visitors in family and friend groups. Big tables as well as KTV facilities could be booked for the day.
The food quality is fantastic and the portions generous. There are no nearby shops so all meals are taken in-house; the staff will consult you about when and what is on offer from the extensive menu. You can specify whether you'd want your food spicy or not when possible depending on the dish.
The genuinely friendly and accomodating staff take such good care of you and step in whenever they feel you may need some assistance. My child had a bad cough at the time, and they were so kind bringing her hot drinks with honey and offering medicine they happened to have there.
My Chinese is not good, but with a standard translation app, you're able to communicate what you need and the staff are so obliging to help. They genuinely do seem to be happy to be working there, and cudos and credit it to the owner for taking such good care of the staff that they in turn carry it over to their care for their guests. It was a pleasure to meet them and the owner.

Guest UserTraveling to Chongqing with temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius, my stay at Mitan Holiday Hotel was comfortable and rejuvenating from start to finish! The location is superb; it's just a few minutes' walk to Shibati, and not far from Jiefangbei and Hongyadong. After exploring the bustling old streets, returning to the hotel instantly brings peace and quiet. The room's soft furnishings are gentle and tasteful, and the bedding is incredibly soft, which was a huge relief after a day of walking up and down hills. The cleaning details were also meticulous, with no strange odors. The biggest surprise was the hotel's private courtyard pool; taking a dip on a scorching hot day immediately dispelled the heat of the mountain city, and it's also a great spot for photos.

Staying here felt like being welcomed into the home of a deeply cultured family. The décor is a beautiful, personal curation: art and personal book collection, vintage porcelain, silk cushions, and carefully chosen artworks.
Nothing feels excessive or staged. Every object has intention behind it — a celadon vase here, a bronze figurine there — and yet the overall feeling is one of warmth and ease, not a museum. The rooms are serene, the linens impeccable, and the little touches — embroidered pillow slips, a hand-painted watercolour above the bed — speak of a host who genuinely cares.
The lady boss is a gracious and soft spoken lady. She offers just the right amount of company and showed us the warmth of Gongtan residents through her actions and food.
This is not just a place to sleep. It is a place that stays with you.

Guest UserOur family of four traveled with children and booked the Jinpeng twin room. The room was more spacious than other nearby hotels, with a chic and non-cramped decor. It was street-facing but not noisy, and the furnishings were very new with a large sofa. We asked the hotel for an extra comforter and sheet, which instantly transformed it into a large bed, perfect for a family with more people. We were very satisfied with this. They also thoughtfully provided toothbrushes and slippers for the children upon check-in. We originally booked for 2 days, but since we were so comfortable and it was close to all the attractions, we extended our stay for another 2 days. The important thing is that the hotel saw we had a large group and gave us extra breakfast vouchers. With such warm service, we will definitely stay here again next time we visit.

Guest UserThe room was very spacious and clean, and they provided disposable bath towels and toilet seat covers. The owner was incredibly nice and upgraded our room for free since it was the off-season. It's super convenient here, close to both bus and subway stations. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!

Guest UserTraveling to Chongqing with two other families and our kids, booking this three-bedroom apartment was definitely the right choice! The rooms were spotlessly clean, and it came fully equipped with a washing machine, a full-length mirror, and a projector. Each family had their own private space without feeling cramped. We could walk to Jiefangbei and Hongya Cave, and there were tons of local snack shops and restaurants downstairs to choose from. The host was incredibly warm and patient. We all felt so comfortable and at ease during our stay. Highly recommend this for families traveling together!

Guest UserI visited Chongqing for the May Day holiday. To my surprise, the prices hadn't increased, which might be because I booked so far in advance. They upgraded my room, and it was really spacious with floor-to-ceiling windows. The cleanliness was excellent; I even used a lint roller, and there was hardly any dust. The only downside is that the location is a bit out of the way, but there are some street food stalls nearby for late-night snacks, which was a nice bonus.

The room is very good, clean and tidy. It is located next to Hongya Cave and overlooks the entire Hongya Cave at night. The surrounding transportation is convenient and there are many delicious foods. I recommend it!

AskeRMThe best hotel we’ve experienced in China. We are budget travelers by all means but this was just insane for the price. Maybe because we visited in early December, but we were immediately upgraded
from a single queen bed room to a double queen bed with river view room. The cleanliness was top notch and the amenities were nice too. Thank you very much

Mさん。”I’ve seen comments saying that the cheaper single rooms in China tend to reek of cigarette smoke, but thankfully this hotel had no tobacco smell at all—that was a plus.
That said, it didn’t feel as clean as the reviews suggested. Still, the owner was friendly, so I’d say it’s fine overall.”
