I stayed at this hotel for a business trip and the hotel is nothing about business and all about fun, meaning very very loud obnoxious music when one needs to work on the phone and concentrate on work. Had this been a pleasure trip, I would have rated this better but if you are in Ixtapa on business and read this, do not stay here as not only will you find it hard to work but the non-stop party atmosphere is anticlimactic. Cleanliness?? Hmmm so so… Again, if I were on holiday, maybe I would let pass things that I expect them to work when I am working. The area is just so beautiful all around that it helps the hotel to manage along.

What happens when you combine the best food, fabulous views, wonderful rooms, and a fantastic staff? Tentaciones Hotel & Lounge / Tentaciones Restaurant (two listings in Trip Advisor) We’ve visited Tentaciones for dinner several times in the past and always left believing they were the best restaurant in Zihuantanejo. They treated us like family, remembered us from year to year and delivered impeccable service with great food and drink. Nothing has changed, it remains the best restaurant we know in Zihua. But this time we stayed at the hotel. Four rooms, all beautiful, each with their own character, make it hard to choose. No matter, we would love any of them. And staying the night just reinforces the personal level of service from the staff, Carmen, Salvatore, Chai, Pablo, Oscar, and the rest, treating us like special guests of the family. We can’t wait to return.

I very rarely write a review but felt like I needed to with this hotel. This hotel has nice rooms and pool areas and good location on the beach, but would not recommend for couples or single or business travelers. At least 80% of the guests were families. The hotel has some really frustrating things that make the stay a lot less enjoyable than it should be. 1. Check-in - waited 20 mins to check-in even though we were the 1st people in the Queue and there were only 1 other couple checking in . There seemed to be 3 staff moving between the front counter and back office but no one made eye contact or acknowledged you. I felt a bit invisible. Not a nice first impression. 2. Breakfast. Chaotic. Included in the room rate and its a buffet. Arrived 0930 and waited 30 mins to get in as it was so busy. Had to linger around the entrance and wait to your name was shouted out to go in. The staff at the entrance were nice and cope well under the pressure of all the hungry guests waiting to get in. There is other staff standing around by the entrance and reception area - but just observing and not actually doing anything to make the guest experience any better - strange. In the breakfast restaurant it will full of families and kids. Really noisy and cramped and to make it even more noise there is music playing and TV's on the wall. What should be a nice relaxing breakfast is a stressful experience. There is a queue for each buffet station. We never had the cooked breakfast as the queue was too long to wait for. Got out of bed 90 mins earlier to avoid have the same breakfast experience again the next day (0800). The breakfast restaurant is way too small to cope with the amount of guests - I presume this is a daily experience. The space needs to be expanded. 3. Pool areas. There is a family pool where people save beds very early in the morning - you will need be to be up early to get a sunbed here. The adult pool is really nice however 3 annoying things which make relaxing by the pool a really un-relaxing experience. Music - high energy music blasting out of a low-quality crackly low-quality speaker which sounded terrible. It was obvious no one was enjoying the music and does not create a chilled relaxing vibe. I can't understand why the hotel management cannot see this? The sun loungers away from the pools and on the grass are all fixed upright with wooden blocks so you cannot lay them flat. I have never seen this in any hotel worldwide - I cant understand why a hotel would do that unless its to make them look better in photography? It is certainly not in the best interests of the guests. There was a waiter that would take drinks orders for you but he never approached us or made eye contact in the 2 days we were there. It seems like to you have get his attention or approach him when you see him. There was only 1 barman working hard at the pool bar and always people waiting to order - so didn't bother as it seems like it was going to be a long wait. Other s
Hilton Grand Vacations Club Zihuatanejo Mexico

We love this place, can’t fault it. The ambience, the staff, maybe not all the steps and the drive way, they aren’t for the feint hearted so think again if you have breathing problems or a difficulty walking!!! Having said that they have golf carts and are very accommodating but if you have problems talk to them before booking. 1 problem we found which will only get worse now that it is Hilton is that the Hilton group have a far larger reach meaning there will be more people trying to book the same number of rooms. We were lucky being able to get 2 weeks but had to go somewhere else in the middle week. If you can get in you will love it as we do. Finally everyone complains about the people dumping a towel and a book on a beach chair. Fine if you are going to walk the beach and then sit in it, or have a meal and sit back but it is becoming frequently noticed that some people just put the towels down and head out for 4-5 hours ant that is just rude but unfortunately the same all over the world despite the notes by the chairs no one enforces the rule about towels etc being removed after 1 hours absence!
Emporio Ixtapa - with Optional All Inclusive

Really nice spot, but a bit of a mixed bag as others have pointed out. Definitely opt for the European plan and not the all inclusive. If you seek and AI best to go next door Hotel is frequented by 99% locals so basic Spanish is helpful. Positives include the location and the rooms while a bit dated larger and very well maintained. Pricing is also good if you booked the room without a package. Upgrade from mountain view to ocean was 20 usd per night. Well worth it for the views and quiet. You will get loud noise from the pool though and events. Negatives include the lack of shade as the cabanas have replaced the thatch structures. Towel games heighten on weekends with the influx of the locals so we had to get assistance to even get a pair of lawn chairs as the multitude were “reserved” Ice has to be obtained from the bar which isn’t convenient as there are only 3 and they don’t open until 11. One only opens in the afternoon. Buffet was ok but well below selection wise what you would find at a Riu or Bahia for example. Would quickly get tedious. Noise is an issue. The pool music volumes are super high and the whistling from the aquatic leader is super annoying daily. All and all. Worth a visit but maybe not a return visit.

This hotel exceeded expectations and was a pleasant experience overall. Large rooms with ocean views, very clean environment, delicious food and friendly staff. A special shout out to Victor at the bar and Reyna the tortilla chef, such a pleasure to deal with! Catering to a mostly national clientele, it was even more fun to enjoy a vacation like the locals.

Hotel Agua Escondida

Visited during Dia de los Muertos weekend. It was a beautiful stay, perfect location as its right across the street from the Zocalo. Our room was nice and comfy, we opted for the suite with an outdoor balcony, perfect. The stairs though!!! Whew, lots and lots of stairs, we were exhausted by the time we reached our room. Service was excellent. Everything was pretty perfect. Would definitely stay again.
Hotel Posada San Javier
