Namtok Bua Tong-Nam Phu Chet Si National Park

6.2
4.8/5
77 reviews
Colorful Waterfall is located in Mae Deng District, Chiang Mai, and is a part of Mae Deng National Forest Park. The water source of the colorful waterfall is Rainbow Spring (or colorful spring), and the spring water contains a high amount of calcium carbonate. When the spring water falls, calcium is deposited on the rock, and calcium carbonate makes the rock surface less slippery, making it easy to walk towards the waterfall. Even if someone poured cement down the rock, it would harden underwater instead of setting on the rock. BuaTong Waterfall is a very worthwhile sight to visit. But don't come just for the waterfall, but also to see the beautiful forest.Thailand · Mae Taeng

366 reviews
Wat Rong Suea Ten is not far from downtown Chiang Rai and is one of the area's representative Buddhist temples. Its most distinctive feature is the color scheme of deep blue, light blue, and gold, with the main hall's exterior walls, roof, and decorations covered in intricate Thai patterns that are vivid and layered. Flanking the entrance are beautifully crafted naga serpent sculptures, whose coiled bodies and gold accents create a solemn yet magnificent visual effect. Inside the main hall, a large white Buddha statue is enshrined, surrounded by murals depicting Buddhist stories and related symbolic imagery. The combination of blue backgrounds and gold details gives the interior a striking artistic style.Chiang Rai · 62.6km from Chun

2.5k reviews
Tha Phae Gate is located on the east side of the Chiang Mai Ancient City in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand, and is one of the iconic city landmarks of Chiang Mai, as well as an important entrance to the ancient city. It is built of red brick and features wide archways. Together with the surrounding remnants of the ancient city wall and the moat, it forms a Lanna-style urban view. The brick walls have a rustic color, and the architectural outline is simple. They complement the surrounding roads, squares, and trees, making it a popular spot for tourists to take photos. The gate seen today is not the original ancient structure preserved in its entirety, but a reconstruction.Thailand · Chiang Mai

Nimmanahaeminda Road

4.7/5
1.1k reviews
Located northwest of Chiang Mai's Old City, between the Old City and Chiang Mai University, lies Nimmanahaeminda Road, a renowned fashion hub and a favorite spot for Chiang Mai's young people. Tips for Exploring Nimmanahaeminda Road While the main road of Nimmanahaeminda Road is busy with traffic, the main area offers more than just shopping. Several quiet side streets perpendicular to Nimmanahaeminda Road also boast numerous interesting shops and attractions. These side streets, known as Soi in Thailand, are mainly concentrated on the odd-numbered side streets on the east side of Nimmanahaeminda Road, so don't miss them! However, remember to visit around 4 or 5 pm, as many shops are closed earlier. The pace of life here is slower, and people generally enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle. Unique and Diverse Architecture The area features a diverse range of architectural styles, from European to traditional Southeast Asian. Occasionally, you'll also spot the four-faced Buddha statues, a symbol of Thai faith. However, the most eye-catching features are the numerous colorful sculptures, each inspired by the theme of its respective shop. For example, if a restaurant is named after a cat, a giant cat sculpture will appear in front of it. Along the way, you'll also find deer, dinosaurs, and other sculptures, which many tourists take photos with. Walking along Nimmanahaeminda Road, you'll see a variety of charming shops, cafes, bars, and trendy boutiques, mostly owned by designers, artists, and celebrities. The designs are sophisticated, making even just strolling around a pleasant experience. Popular Food Spots If you get tired of shopping, you can relax at unique restaurants and cafes like the butterfly pea flower-themed restaurant, iBerry, Mango Tango dessert shop, and Ristr8to Latte Art Café, and sample some local delicacies. At the butterfly pea flower-themed restaurant, everything from rice and noodles to drinks is blue. It is said that the food here is dyed with Anchan, a blue flower from Thailand. The blue drinks sold on the streets of Thailand are also dyed with this flower, and it is said that adding honey will turn them purple.Thailand · Chiang Mai

"U Mong" means "tunnel" in Thai, which is how Wat Umong Suan Putthatham (Wat U Mong) got its name. The temple is located at the foot ofDoi Suthepon the outskirts of Chiang Mai. It is less crowded and filled with a sense of Zen. Temple history The temple was first built during the 14th-century reign of King Mengrai, restored in 1371, and abandoned in the 15th century. Since 1948, it has been re-established as a center for Buddhist education and meditation. Tranquil temple grounds At the center of the temple stands a Sukhothai-style pagoda on a base. Ancient walls surround the pagoda, adorned with lifelike Buddha statues of various sizes. Surrounded by lush woods and a lake, the temple is quiet, rustic, and serene, making it perfect for meditation. Additionally, the temple is exceptionally beautiful at sunset. Know before you go There is a smaller replica of the temple in the old city of Chiang Mai. When taking a ride to the original temple, you must specify that you want to go to "Wat U Mong TheraJan" so that the songthaew or tuk-tuk driver understands where you want to go.Thailand · Chiang Mai

Chiang Rai Night Bazaar

This is a night market in Chiang Rai. Compared with Chiang Mai, the Chiang Rai night market is much smaller in scale, but it is full of internal organs. This small night market is one of the best places to hang out in Chiang Rai after dark. There are a variety of handicrafts and souvenirs from the lowland hill tribes of Thailand, such as wood carvings, marble carvings, paintings, etc., as well as small items such as pirated DVDs and T-shirts. In addition to a wide variety of goods, there are singing and dancing performances with local characteristics for you to relax and enjoy. Of course, you must not miss the delicious fried food, barbecue and various brands of beer here when visiting Chiang Rai Night Market. Chiang Rai Night Market has a large food court full of northern Thai food and snacks. It is also a pleasure to find a seat in the food court and watch the performance while dining.Chiang Rai · 61.3km from Chun

"Bua Tong Waterfall" in Bua Tong Waterfall National Park (Seven-Colored Fountain) A white, shiny limestone waterfall, a long path, almost 200 meters, with 3 levels in total, suitable for climbing and playing in the water (not slippery, easy to walk, there are ropes to hold on to all the way). It is not far from Chiang Mai city, only 52 km (about 1 hour). The route is easy and convenient. The asphalt road reaches the park. After breakfast, I took a taxi to Thapae Gate to take pictures. I took a few pictures by myself first, and then I saw someone who would take pictures for 100 baht and chase away pigeons for me. It was a great place to take pictures. After taking pictures, there are some drink shops nearby. If it is very hot at noon, you can also find a massage place to rest, walk around and take pictures. Be careful to protect yourself from the sun! The sun is still very strong.
