He not only provided a detailed introduction to the historical significance, architectural features, and cultural value of the Badaling Great Wall, allowing us to deeply appreciate the grandeur and profoundness of this World Heritage Site, but also thoughtfully reminded us of safety precautions, planned our route, and proactively answered our questions. Mary reached out the day before via WhatsApp and answered my logistic questions. Overall I’m very happy I joined her tour. She is patient, upbeat, and explained well without being overwhelming. Perhaps I’m out of shape, but this ~5 hours walking tour was intense during the last hour or so. Be sure to wear comfiest shoes and bundled up! Also I’m glad Mary’s notes did mention bringing drinks and snacks with you. The snack shops inside the Forbidden City were too long to wait.
