Overall it is definitely not cheap, but you can travel on trains around Europe as many times as you want during the period, flexible and convenient, especially for last minute travelers. Keep in mind in countries like Spain, Italy and France, the reservation fee is expensive and can add up quickly, so you need to plan ahead. Also, in most countries, the app cannot be used in the tickets gates automatically, and must seek help from staff. Hope they can improve it.★

Definitely recommended if your Switzerland trip is a couple of weeks as train travel is the way to go over there. It’s so convenient purchasing it at Trip.com and the tickets are emailed almost immediately. Be sure to print it out or keep it in your phone as conductors do check your half fare card almost every time. Note that you can purchase attractions like the gornergrat train and the first gondola at half off too.★

Fabio & his wife Anita are truly amazing people. Their home is situated in a quiet place with a lovely garden where we sat for dinner. The food was authentic & delicious. Fabio is the most gracious host. I came by myself as a stranger and left feeling like family. They were kind and welcoming and made me feel at home. The conversation was entertaining & stimulating, as well. I will definitely come back to see my new friends (who feel like old friends) again as soon as I am back in Basel.★
