I realized I had mistakenly used the wrong eSIM, and it wouldn't work at Vienna Station. I quickly bought a physical eSIM at a discounted price using the station's Wi-Fi and connected. It was very cheap and easy to install. I would definitely use it again if I have the opportunity.

I bought an eSIM for the first time for the Balkans (I was traveling to two countries at once). It was convenient; I didn't have to switch SIMs. The most important thing is to figure out which SIM is Russian and which is eSIM in the iPhone settings and correctly enable/disable data roaming. I got the option without a daily data cap. I used about 3 GB of 10 GB in 7 days. Social media and online maps don't use much data.

In Europe, eSIM with a mobile number and call functionality is the cheapest option. You can connect immediately at Budapest airport, but in hotels in Budapest, Zagreb, and Ljubljana, the internet speed is either very slow or impossible to connect at all. Outdoors and in the suburbs, there are generally no problems. I haven't used the call functionality, so I'm not sure. If the hotel offers free Wi-Fi, it's a cost-effective choice.
