A fantastic day, organisation without fault, guide super, gorge spectacular. Coach was air conditioned which was a god send at the end of the day as the last 3km of the walk was hot beyond anything I've experienced (although from the UK so not a high bar!), really well driven on some very mountainous roads. Guide gave just the right amount of information and some interesting facts during the coach journey without overdoing it. Available without being in in your face, basicly you make your own way down while she swept up any stragglers to ensure every makes the ferry. The gorge is spectacular and I would recommend to anyone interested. It is nearly all down hill but it is rough ground. I wore trainers which I would not recommend if you have hiking boots (I did not bring them to Crete), by the end the soles of my feet were suffering from the rough ground. It is also very hot, especally the last 3km from the National Park exit to the ferry. It's tough but very much worth the effort, time and cost.

Reviews: From Chania: Lake Kournas & Argiroupoli Springs Guided Tour

The trip was excellent. Five stars wouldn't be enough. Even though we don't like organized trips in large groups, I recommend this one. It was more like a trip with friends. Nicole is incredibly kind, friendly, and always smiling. She took great care of her guests. We saw more than we expected, and everything took place in a peaceful, unhurried atmosphere. Thanks also to the driver, who navigated the mountain windings as gently as possible.

Wonderful trip, really enjoyed it and well taken care of from A to Z with the top guide who spoke 4 languages including Dutch. Good explanations and a nice bit of history, and you can ask anything. 5 stars for the Organization Sealand Travel Service. Tip: Geef een tip een kleinigheidje als dankbaarheid na je trip ‘ze werken er hard voor!

Reviews: From Chania:Samaria Gorge with Professional Hiking Guide

The description and previous reviews accurately reflect how the activity unfolds. The descent is long and tiring. Good shoes are essential. Never lose your vigilance, as the rocks are slippery even in dry weather – several people, including my husband, have fallen. Our guide was fantastic – he lent him his walking stick and a knee brace to finish the hike. There are volunteers along the route to assist you if needed, but I strongly advise you to carefully assess your abilities before deciding to go and to listen closely to your guide's instructions once you arrive.
