Lightning Lake Jingbei Wetland Grassland
Lightning Lake Jingbei Wetland Grassland is located in Guyuan County. Lightning Lake is the largest lake in the upper reaches of the Luan River, named after the Lightning River that flows into it. Kulun Nur Tourist Resort
Kulun Nur Tourist Resort (formerly Guyuan Swan Lake Attraction) is a 4A-level Attraction located in the Hulu River Wetland Park, 3 kilometers north of Guyuan County, Hebei Province. Kulun Nur Attraction is affiliated to Guyuan County Blue Whale Tourism Development Co., Ltd. The Attraction covers an area of 32 square kilometers, including 9.6 square kilometers of lake surface. It is 1,375 meters above sea level and is a natural plateau freshwater lake. This is a bird's paradise. Dozens of rare birds live and feed by the lake alternately with the change of seasons; the high-quality lake water has created rich fishery resources. It is rich in well-known high-back crucian carp, pond smelt, silver carp, carp, grass carp, bighead carp and other original ecological aquatic products. Kulun Nur's whole fish banquet has won the praise of tourists. Souvenir the tourist resort are the ruins of the Liao Dynasty palace, the West Pavilion and the Xiaohongcheng ruins. Luanhe Shenyun Scenic Spot
Luanhe River Scenic Spot is located 20 km northeast of the county town, situated in the core area of Hebei Bashang Lightning River National Wetland Park, renowned as a "Characteristic Tourism Wetland of China." Developed and constructed by the county government in April 2012, it adheres to the principles of rational wetland utilization and protection, integrating ecological sightseeing, science education, and leisure vacation into a comprehensive wetland ecological experience zone. The attraction boasts over 85% vegetation coverage, with infrastructure built around "Zhuanfo Mountain." From the summit, visitors can admire the breathtaking river bends resembling lightning flashes on a rainy night or silvery snakes winding through nine twists - known as "Lightning River." This ancient waterway, originally called Rushui during the Tang Dynasty before being renamed Luan River (later written as Luanhe), serves as the source of northern China's mighty Luanhe River that still flows today. Centuries of historical changes and nature's artistic craftsmanship have shaped this picturesque landscape where the gently rippling Lightning River meanders peacefully, creating eighteen graceful bends that form the spectacular scenery of Luanhe River Scenic Spot. Luanhe River Scenic Spot is nestled against Zhuanfo Mountain to the north, borders Jinlianchuan to the south, neighbors Zhuanfo Temple Village to the east, and overlooks Grassland Lake to the west. Guyuan Bashang Grassland
Guyuan Grassland is located in Guyuan County, 180 kilometers northeast of Zhangjiakou, and borders the Inner Mongolia Grassland to the north. The main scenic spots include Jinlian Villa, which is 50 kilometers away from Guyuan County and 230 kilometers away from Zhangjiakou. With an altitude of 1,800 meters and a total area of 60,000 mu, the villa is a natural wild botanical garden outside the Great Wall. In summer, Jinlian Villa is full of flying bees and dancing butterflies, gushing springs, and Unlimited scenery. Gushui Fuyuan Resort is located 5 kilometers east of Guyuan County, covering an area of about 30,000 mu, of which the water surface area is more than 12,000 mu. Along Luanchi Road to Houcheng Village, you can see the huge "Chibi" on the right. The so-called Chibi is the famous Dripping Cliff, which is known as "the first peak of Youyan" and "the first stone in the world". Under the blue sky, the red mountain is very distinctive, like a huge slice of bread standing on the plain. Because the rocks here are rich in iron, the mountain is red and is called Chibi by the locals. Here, together with Fengning Damshang and Weichang Zhangbei Damshang, it forms a tripod. From here, you can enjoy the grassland scenery of Saibei. The altitude of Laozhanggou Forest Farm is about 1,400 meters, and the altitude of the mountainous area of Houcheng is about 800 meters. Badaling Great Wall

I stopped here on the way back from Ulan Butong. If you're coming specifically for this, it's not worth it.
I recommend entering the scenic area around dusk to experience the breathtaking view of the stone carvings: "The sunset glows and wild geese fly together, the autumn waters blend seamlessly with the sky."

The scenic area is really huge!! The shuttle bus only goes around the east side and doesn't reach the castle. The rides inside are very cheap; archery is only 2 yuan per arrow, and the owner might even tip you with a bottle of mineral water if he's in a good mood ˶>ᗜ<˶. The scenery is absolutely amazing. If you want to go to the castle for photos from the park, you can either take a horse-drawn carriage (80 yuan per person if there are many people, 60 yuan per person if there are few people) or rent a shared electric scooter (30 yuan for the first half hour, and 1 yuan per minute after that). But at the end, you have to cross a sky bridge and then either take a car or a cable car, which is quite troublesome. We didn't go, leaving a small regret for next time~

The scenery is particularly great. I caught up with the most beautiful time of the Colorful Forest. Off-road is also highly recommended. When playing the package project, the order was messed up. The staff arranged to take the sightseeing bus again for free, which is very humane.

If you're traveling with elderly people, you need to consider their physical condition. Walking the whole way can be tiring for those who aren't physically fit. There aren't many decent restaurants inside, and the food at the restaurants is just so-so, plus the prices are relatively high.

Five-star review! Thank you, Director Li, for your dedication, patience, and thorough explanations. We were originally scheduled to board at 8:00 AM from Lao She Teahouse near Qianmen, but considering it was too early, the subway transfer would be necessary, and the walking would take time, I considered getting a refund. Director Li learned that I was taking Metro Line 8 from Muxiyuan and directed me to the Beitucheng station, allowing us to meet at 8:50 AM. Following Director Li's directions, I boarded the bus at Beitucheng. Today's Great Wall visit went very smoothly and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you, Director Li!

I've booked the tour that started at 10am but I was there early and they put me with the earlier group and it's great that I didn't have to spend my time waiting. Before I was there I've read that one of the main building was under construction and was very disappointed. Though it's my fifth visit, you will still want to see it in its full glory and not to be greeted by a scaffolding building. However once I've passed that, it didn't really bother me as much as I've thought it would be. Our guide was Lily. She is very passionate, responsible and answer all questions. There's time for photos and a toilet break. After the tour with Lily ended, I made my way to the Treasure Hall. It's worth a visit where you see more of these grand architecture.

We’re avid theme park goers and love to try out new parks all around the world. Having done Universal in Orlando, we had to try out the Beijing park whilst we were here and it did not disappoint. First of all, the price is great value, worked out around £50 per person which is really cheap compared to Orlando and the rides are almost identical. Now don’t get me wrong, we did all of the shows and rides and at times it was a bit confusing because we don’t speak Chinese but we still thoroughly enjoyed them as we’d seen most of them all before but in English so it was good to compare. The food was also a mixed bag in terms of it being very overpriced compared to if you were out for a meal or grabbing some food in the centre of Beijing but it’s a once in a lifetime trip for us so still worth the money!
