Zhenbao Island
Zhenbao Island is located on the Ussuri River and is about 2 kilometers long. It is called Zhenbao Island because of its shape like ingots. Zhenbao Island was originally a peninsula that stretched into the Ussuri River from the Chinese side. Later, it became a small island after a long-term impact of currents. During the dry season in summer, Zhenbao Island will be connected with the Chinese land in the Ussuri River to restore the original appearance of the peninsula. The older generation of Chinese fishermen on the Ussuri River also called Zhenbao Island "Wengdao". Zhenbao Island is a small island with an area of only 0.74 square kilometers, but it attracted worldwide attention due to the Zhenbao Island incident in the late 1960s. Standing on the stone monument on the riverside, "the first victory on one island in a century" reminds people of the Sino-Soviet battle more than 30 years ago - Zhenbao Island's self-defense counterattack, which ended with our victory. Hutou Tourism Scenic Area
Hutou Fortress, a military base of the Japanese Kwantung Army on the former Sino-Soviet border in the eastern part of Northeast China, is located in the hills of the Wanda Mountain around Hutou Town, Hulin City, Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province. It is one of the extremely important evidences of Japanese imperialism during its invasion of China, covering an area of about 360 square kilometers. The front of the central area of the fortress is about 12 kilometers wide. Within a radius of tens of kilometers, there are more than ten fortresses of different sizes, consisting of five positions: Menghu Mountain, Hubei Mountain, Hudong Mountain, Huxi Mountain, and Huxiao Mountain. The purpose of the Japanese Kwantung Army to build the Hutou Fortress was to use it as a strategic base for attacking the Soviet Union. Because Hutou's military strategic position is extremely important, it is located at the center of Khabarovsk and Vladivostok, strangling the throat of the Soviet Far East Ussuri Railway. At the same time, it is a shortcut for the Far East Soviet Army to enter the hinterland of Northeast China. The fortress has now become a historical relic, with the Hutou Underground Fortress Museum inside. Wushuli River
The Wushuli River is a tributary of the Heilongjiang River and serves as the national border between China and Russia. Its upper reaches are formed by the confluence of the Ula and Daobi rivers, both of which originate on the southwestern slopes of the Sikhote-Alin. It flows northeast to Khabarovsk, where it joins the Heilongjiang River. It is 909 km (565 miles) long, with a drainage area of 187,000 square kilometers (72,200 square miles). The river is wide and flows slowly. Its main tributaries include the Songacha, Muling, and Naoli rivers. A long section of the main stream was the site of a border dispute between China and the Soviet Union in 1969, and in 1977, both sides established navigation rules for the border waters. Ussuri River National Forest Park
Ussuri River National Forest Park is located on the left bank of Ussuri River, 65 kilometers away from Hulin City. The total area of the park is 25,069 hectares. It is a multi-functional ecological forest park integrating the scenery of the Ussuri River, forest landscapes, and cultural and historical sites. In the Ussuri River National Forest Park, there are the vast Ussuri River, a thousand-mu lotus pond called Crescent Moon Lake, a must-see in the North, and dense forests. During World War II, the Japanese Kwantung Army forced Chinese laborers into an underground military fortress, the historical witness of the end of World War II, the small white pagoda, a monument built to commemorate the sacrificed soldiers, as well as more than 10 cultural landscapes such as museums and resorts.
