Kenrokuen, one of Japan's "Three Famous Gardens", which is as famous as Mito Kailand and Okayama Korakuen, is a representative daimyo (lord) garden of the Edo period. Work hard to get what you are today. Kenrokuen Garden is located in the center of Kanazawa. As a garden where you can enjoy the beauty of the four seasons, it is loved by many Ishikawa prefectural residents and tourists from all over the world. Kenroku Garden uses a large number of "revolutionary" gardening elements, and also comprehensively uses the gardening techniques of many times, integrating the strengths of many families. Different from the gardens that can be viewed from the sitting room of the temple or the academy of the imperial palace, the voyage-style garden makes the most of the space of the land, excavating large ponds, building rockeries in the garden, and decorating with pavilions and tea houses. You need to watch them one by one to see all the sights. Because the garden has ponds scattered all over the place and crooked water running through it, the rockery built with the soil excavated from the ponds, and the scattered and colorful flowers and trees, it is also called "rockery, forest spring, and migratory garden".Kanazawa · 19km from Nanto

Kanazawa has three major tea house streets that have continued from the Edo period to the present, which are called Nishichaya Street, Higashichaya Street, and Juji Town. East Chaya Street is one of the bigger ones. At present, the style of Higashi Chaya Street still maintains the style of the Edo period. Wooden houses are lined up on both sides of the stone road. The old buildings that have been redecorated are now restaurants, tea shops or souvenir shops. This is a preservation area of important traditional buildings in Japan.Kanazawa · 18.7km from Nanto

Shirakawa-go is located in the northwestern part of Gifu Prefecture and was listed as a "World Cultural Heritage" in 1995. The "gassho-style" style residential roof has a triangular shape, which is an architectural form created by local residents to resist the severe cold and heavy snow, which is suitable for large families to live in. The shape of the house is very pointed, like a co-authoring hand, hence the name. In this snowy area, one of the few in Japan, the gassho buildings can withstand the severe weather and heavy snow, and the villagers still live in such villages to this day. With the centuries-old gassho architecture, the nature that nurtured village life, the long history and modern life harmoniously coexist here. It can be described as a "living world cultural relic". Shirakawa-go Lighting Ceremony Shirakawa-go holds a light-up ceremony every weekend from mid-January to late February. When the color of the sky gradually darkened, the icy snow and the warm lights began to interweave a soft scene, and the silver-clad thatched roof was gradually surrounded by orange light, and the scene in the dream slowly emerged. Main Attractions 1. The Hotan House (an important cultural property designated by the state) has a long history of 400 years. 2. The gassho-shaped house of the four-story building of the Kanda family. The first floor is a tea drinking room, the second and third floors are displays of winemaking, daily utensils, and sericulture utensils, and the fourth floor is an observation room. 3. The five-story building of the Nagase family's gassho-shaped house. The first floor is a display of Buddhist altars from 500 years ago. The third and fourth floors are the display of the previous daily utensils. 4. The Shiroyama Observatory overlooks the panoramic view of Shirakawa Township and is a good location for photography. 5. There are 25 thatched cottages in the shape of gassho palms, 9 of which are designated as important cultural properties by Gifu Prefecture. You can also visit the inside of the Gassho Thatched Cottage.Shirakawa Village · 33.4km from Nanto

Beautiful garden. Avoid midday in summer or bring a fan! The teahouses inside can be a little pricey but are a welcome break from the heat.

Kanazawa Higashi Chaya Street is a place full of traditional Japanese style! The antique wooden buildings and stone paths make you feel like you have traveled back to the Edo period. There are many teahouses and small shops here where you can experience matcha, Japanese sweets, and even encounter geisha performances. It is especially romantic when the lanterns are lit in the evening, and it is a great place to take photos! It is a must-visit for those who like a slow pace and love taking photos when they come to Kanazawa!

Ainokura Gassho Village is a world cultural heritage site along with Shirakawa and Suganuma Gassho Village. When we arrived at Ainokura, it was snowing and the village was gradually covered by the first snow. For a moment, we thought we had come to a fairy tale world isolated from the world. Compared with the bustling Shirakawa-go, this place seems deserted, but I prefer this original, clean, and independent elegance. Strolling in the village, you can admire the wooden houses of various shapes. The roofs are like clasped hands, and the thick thatch resists the snow, making the seemingly weaker houses still stand tall after hundreds of years of wind and frost. At the teahouse at the intersection, drink a cup of coffee, look at the holy world outside the window, enjoy this rare tranquility and romance, and don't be disturbed by any mundane things. You won't want to leave for a long time...

The entire Gassho Village was covered with snow; even though we didn’t give up, we were blocked by the snow; but we still headed towards the steeper and more difficult new road to the observation deck; although in the end we were unable to take pictures due to the fog; but The scenery along the road also kept us lingering; finally we had a snowball fight on the hillside to complete this task

Shirakawa-go in August is undeniably hot; a ten-minute walk under the sun will leave your back drenched in sweat. Sunscreen is a must; it's unbearably hot. The houses in the Gassho-zukuri style are cool inside, with thick thatched roofs like a quilt, but there are plenty of insects outside, so bring plenty of mosquito repellent. The village is small; the main street is packed with people at midday, making it difficult to take photos without squeezing in. It cools down in the evening; the path to the observation deck has less shade, but it's a ten-minute climb up, and you don't have to wait for the shuttle bus. The observation deck is truly invigorating.

We rode Flying Dinosaur, Mario Kart, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park with short waits. Highlights: Flying Dinosaur

Nice park, a lot of entertainment, but we happened to go on a Sunday and it was extremely crowded. An upside is that you can buy a pass, which is rather affordable, and it can help you experience more in one day. We bought passes for 2 attractions, and even with them were not able to attend everything, which was a pity, cause we spent most of the day queuing. I guess the situation is different on weekdays.
