Huoshan is one of the seven famous mountains in Guangdong. It is a typical Danxia landform. It is famous for its steep red cliffs and strange rocks. If you go there in the early morning, you can also see the mist-shrouded scenery here, which is very spectacular. Of course, the long and breathtaking cliff glass plank road in the scenic spot is not to be missed. Huoshan is not very high. Starting from the foot of the mountain, it takes about 4 hours to go back and forth. The wine pot stone, Lingshan Temple and Yixiantian are popular spots in the scenic spot. The glass plank road on the cliff is also a must-see. A line of sky consists of two steep stone walls. When the sun shines down through the narrow gap between the two peaks, it is interesting to look up at the sky.Longchuan · 24.2km from Xingning

Shenguang Mountain, 360 meters above sea level, 100 meters high, with towering trees, winding paths, and rich historical sites, is a place for scholars and writers of all dynasties to travel. Every year on the Double Ninth Festival, it has a history of more than 800 years for going to Shenguang Mountain for climbing, offering sacrifices, and competing with the gods. With the passage of time and the change of dynasties, the original pavilions and pavilions of the temples were eroded by wind and rain and were destroyed. In the 1980s, the Mochi in Shannan and the temple altars of Shigu Dawang, Baisha Dawang, Sanshan Dawang, etc., were restored or rebuilt, and they were all restored as before. Only the ruins of Shenguang Temple and other monuments remain. In 1984, Shi Shanguang, a Thai-Chinese and the abbot of Thailand's "Longfu Temple", proposed and funded the construction of Shengguang Temple, which has now been completed and opened.Xingning · 4.6km from downtown

Zhonggu Cableway

8k reviews
The Zhonggu Cableway is an elevated sightseeing cable car spanning the Wanshi mountains in Xiamen. Its lower station is located near the west gate of Xiamen botanical garden and the Zhonggu Mountain tunnel entrance. The route passes the botanical garden, Huxi Rock, and Hongshan area, extending all the way to the Wulao Peak behind Nanputuo temple, covering over 1,000 m in total. The cable car features semi-open two-person gondolas without window panes, offering unobstructed views where mountain breezes brush past your face. Once seated, you'll be suspended above layers of greenery and city rooftops. The round-trip itinerary takes approx. 40 mins. Upon reaching the terminal station, the train returns along the same route without requiring transfers. From this elevated vantage point, you can take in Xiamen's mountains, sea, and cityscape all at once: below lies the lush forest and rugged rocks of the botanical garden, while a turn of the head reveals the temple eaves of Nanputuo temple. In the distance, Gulangyu island, the twin towers, and the open sea unfold in sequence—on clear days, you can even spot the islands toward Kinmen. Along the way, the train passes original wartime tunnels and wind-eroded boulders, adding a touch of historical ambiance to this aerial journey. For a more enjoyable experience, you may choose the departure time slot around sunset when the sea and city skyline under the evening glow make for particularly stunning photos. This time slot is often in high demand. The cable car baskets are open on all sides, so travelers who are sensitive to wind should pick a clear and less windy day. The cable car may suspend operations in case of strong winds, thunderstorms, or other adverse weather conditions. It is advisable to check the day's situation before departure.China · Xiamen

A hidden gem of Hakka culture in eastern Guangdong, this national 4A-level scenic area truly lives up to its reputation! The entire Xihe Bay area is nestled against the mountains and beside the lake, perfectly blending natural scenery with Hakka culture. Every step reveals a breathtaking view. The experience is superb: the scenic area is clean and tidy, well-managed, and the sightseeing buses are convenient. The night view is especially stunning, with light shows, drone performances, and fireworks displays in succession—a visual feast! Easy to eat and stay: The Fulaideng Hotel within the scenic area is located right by the lake, offering scenic views from every window—a perfect one-stop vacation. It's definitely a place worth visiting. The environment is elegant, and each mountain is different. Although some paths are difficult, it's not tiring overall, and there are many rest stops. The only downhill path is a bit long.

We brought our family to visit the Canton Tower, and everyone was very satisfied. The scenic area was well-organized, the staff were patient and helpful, and the security check and tower climbing processes were orderly. The observation deck offered a wide view, making it easy for both the elderly and children to explore without long walks. From the top, you could enjoy panoramic views of both sides of the Pearl River, where the river breeze, skyscrapers, and the ancient tower blended seamlessly with the new city. At night, the lights were dazzling, and every snapshot looked like a masterpiece, making it a perfect place for the whole family to experience the charm of Guangzhou.

I visited 20 years ago, and it's still so much fun now. The park is well-maintained, all the miniature landscapes are beautiful, and there aren't too many tourists. They've also added many NPCs to interact with visitors, handing out cards that you can collect to exchange for prizes. There are also some free rides, a haunted house, a 4D movie—it has everything you could want. You could easily spend a whole day there and still not have enough.

Visiting the Zhonggu Cableway in early October, with its clear skies and gentle breezes, offered the perfect opportunity to experience the breathtaking aerial views, far removed from the sweltering heat of midsummer. The Zhonggu Cableway traverses the Wanshi Mountain forest, and the gentle ascent in the cable car provides a unique and immersive experience, offering panoramic views of Xiamen from above. The cable car cabins are open-plan, offering unobstructed views. As the cable car slowly ascends, lush subtropical forests line both sides, their verdant foliage and fresh mountain air filling the air. With each ascent, the view gradually expands, revealing the verdant Zhonggu Mountain range nearby, and in the distance, the red-tiled roofs of Xiamen's old town, along with the high-rise buildings and the bay, unfolding in a harmonious tapestry. Reaching the highest point, one can gaze upon Gulangyu Island and the boundless sea, taking in the panoramic view of the city, mountains, and azure ocean blending seamlessly into a breathtaking panorama. The entire journey takes approximately forty minutes one way, with a smooth and leisurely ride, ideal for savoring the scenery at a leisurely pace. Along the way, you'll see towering boulders in the valleys and forest trails, with constantly changing mountain scenery from different angles. Compared to hiking, the cable car saves you the effort of climbing, yet offers a panoramic view unmatched by ordinary observation decks. The only drawback is the long queues during peak hours; it's recommended to travel during off-peak times. The cabins offer no shade, so remember to wear sunscreen when the sun is strong. Sitting in the cable car, with the mountain breeze in your ears and overlooking the entire city, you'll feel incredibly relaxed. The Zhonggu Cableway is more than just a transportation route; it's a window into the panoramic view of Xiamen's mountains and sea. Here, the wild beauty of the mountains and the coastal cityscape converge, allowing you to experience the tranquility of nature while enjoying breathtaking urban views. If you're tired of the bustling city streets, climbing here and gazing at the unique mountain and sea scenery of Xiamen from mid-air is a pleasant and unforgettable experience.

The Pearl River Cruise was pretty good. Easy to buy tickets off Trip; buy the tickets, get a QR code within seconds, scan QR code at pier - easy entry. Ship was pretty good. Booked 3rd level seats for the unobstructed views and was pretty surprised that I was booking a table on the 3rd level. That was great as we could sit down if we wanted to. The weather was perfect. No rain, clear skies, a bit of a breeze. It is a great family activity and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
