Tashiro Annex

A larger and older ryokan in Miyanoura, right next to the Miyanoura River. There is a bus transfer at the entrance. The front desk of the hotel has a one-day ticket for adults 2000 yen and elementary school students half price. Reminder: 1. If your hiking shoes get wet, you can wash them in the coin-operated laundry room at the back door of the hotel, and then take them to the dryer next to the front desk to dry them. 2. It is best to book morning and evening meals. There are not many restaurants open on the island on weekends. Large room with 10 tatami mats, breakfast is simple and nutritious enough 3 If the weather is good, you can go for a walk at night to see the stars. Picture 5 Although it is dark, there are stars inside.

If you say a lodging with a hot spring center, there is only 12 rooms. The main is a day trip hot spring guest in the neighborhood. You can take a bath at 350 yen. There is a large bath and * landscape open air. The bathing time for guests only is from 6 to 7 half in the morning. Stayed in a Japanese room Twin with W-bed 2. Clean and spacious and good view. Instant but also coffee and tea drink corner. The meal is simple.

The location is superb, room was clean, spacious and with a nice balcony. The room provided all you need on a leisure trip. The only downside was it was super complicated and time consuming to contact the hostel for entrance pin, check-in procedure and check-in number. We asked the front desk receptionist of our previous hotel to call the hostel number stated on trip.com booking confirmation email in morning, but no one picked up; called again at 3pm, and the hostel hotline said the number was wrong and referred us to call another number. If we did not have the assistance from a Japanese local receptionist from another hotel, I dont think we could get the entrance pin and check-in procedure information smoothly. I recommend this hostel to Japanese local, or tourists with a Japanese mobile number to make calls/able to find assistance from Japanese local people.

My sincerest gratitude to the professional service and helpfulness of the front desk staff in particular the Div. Manager, Mr. Atsuyoshi Kubota, who patiently search for available medical service during late hours for treating my wife's injury and also voluntarily arrange a staff to accompany us to the hospital. Ram Kumar, the accompanying staff, is instrumemental in our communication to the medical personnels and he is so kind to arrange late dinner for us at the hotel's discretion. They not only demonstrate the highest level of professionalism but also their genuine care of the well being of the customers. Once again, big big thanks to Mr. Kubota and his team of beautiful people. By the way, good breakfast and dinner, both in terms of the menu as well as service and venue.
JR Kyushu Hotel Kagoshima

100% convenient. You can reached via shinkasen on the last train and not worry about to catch the last bus or walk on quiet road to hotel. The hotel entrance is the same level on the exit JR platform. From the photo of entrance and exit of family mart , left is the hotel right is the JR. Less than 5 minutes from hotel check in counter to JR. Room is cleaned. I love the availability of 3 choices of bath salt. Self service.. just scoop the number of salt you want. Room is quiet and no sojnd from the JR or road. Only the breakfast is not muslim friendly. The room is not small. Just nice. Happy to stay and strongly recommend.
Hotel Caretta

We visited as a family of four. Pleasant medium-sized hotel — good family pool, jacuzzi, beach on an inlet of the sea a minute walk down the hill, panoramic view across the bay to the mountains on the other side. What makes the place great is how accommodating the people are — genuinely nice, not just hospitality school nice. Little issue? Fixed! “And sorry for the trouble.” Pool tubes, bikes, snorkeling equipment, even a mermaid fin, available with no rental fee. Very happy with our stay here.
Hotel Sundays Amami

The hotel is in the center of the famous area, not far from the pier. It takes about 10 minutes to walk. The AEON hypermarket is also the same distance (on the other side of the bay), and the shopping street is only a five minute walk away. The bus stop to the airport is right next to the hotel, and the bus stop on the island is on the shopping street, very close. The rooms are much larger than expected. The dishes on the first floor restaurant are cheap and good, and there are several home wine houses near the hotel. The front desk staff service was very warm and thoughtful. On the day of the check-in, a female clerk at the front desk helped us to contact the chartered tour, which provided us with great convenience. The bathing supplies in the bathroom are Shiseido. In short, this is a recommended hotel.

Toyoko Inn Kagoshima Chuo Eki Nishi Guchi

This hotel is only a minute walk from Kagoshima Chuo Station. It is almost the same as other business hotels, and the rooms and bathrooms are basically clean, but the bathrooms are especially small, and some of the facilities are outdated. You can be served breakfast in the lobby on the first floor, depending on your accommodation plan. There seems to be enough tables and chairs, but due to the large number of rooms, especially on holidays when the rooms are almost full, it may be too crowded to eat breakfast. However, there are cafes and convenience stores around the hotel that open early in the morning, so you won't have any trouble finding food. The hotel can be used as a good base for sightseeing in Kagoshima.
Richmond Hotel Kagoshima Kinseicho

For tourists, you will like the hotel. It’s centrally-located and reasonably priced. But for me, this is my 2nd Richmond Hotel this week, and like Yokohama four days ago, the check in experience at the Kagoshima Richmond Kinseicho was just as bad. I arrived at the hotel at 1 and asked in Japanese for them to hold my bag until checkin. No problem and I left. I came back about 3:30 to check in. I claimed my bag and gave my name in Japanese. She found my reservation then immediately asked for my passport. I simply said “No”. She looked at me like I didn’t hear her then went to the back room to get another woman who I guess can speak English. Before the second one could say anything I explained in Japanese that I am not a tourist and if she would just check my reservation on the computer in front of her she would have known that. It is insulting to ask permanent residents (I am one.) for identification when checking in, especially our passport, which we do not carry around inside Japan (any more than a Japanese person would traveling Japan). The law specifies we are to be checked in as residents just as Japanese people are. And this, again, is the 2nd time this week I have explained the Japanese hotel law to Richmond hotel staff who should know better. And when this happens, no matter how good your hotel is the stay will not be pleasant because I won’t forget the insult. I’m speaking to you in Japanese and you still assume I am a tourist? How many fluent middle-aged white guys do you see in a year who are tourists? Come on Richmond, use some common sense and stop lumping residents and tourists in the same pile. It’s disrespectful to those of us for whom Japan is home. We are not the same as tourists. I like Richmond Hotels, but I have plenty of hotel choices available to me, and have stayed at Richmond at least four times this past year. Until you stop othering foreign residents as the same as visiting tourists I won’t be staying at this Richmond or any other going forward.
