GGuest User: It’s a lovely Double Tree. A regular to Double Trees staying there said it was the best he had stayed in. The pools were nice. We only had the breakfast option but it was very varied and tasty and you could sit outside on the terrace, weather permitting. The indoor pool was lovely. It’s by a promenade along the coastline. There’s a public car park at the hotel with special rates for guests which is handy as parking it not easy. The room was really comfortable and there were some shops, a small gym and pools outside. Unfortunately Bugibba the resort is undergoing a lot of construction so it’s not great as at March 2026 but I am sure it will be finished (the streets) soon. The bar area was nice and there was some live music and bits of entertainment too. Very nice hotel.

AAnonymous User: Very spacious and clean. Staff is not always on site (a lot of automated replies via chat) but otherwise they were very helpful. Location is close to transport (10min walk) but not much else cose to the flat. Works well as a hub to travel around Malta. A few notes: Be sure to request on demand heating in advance, if required. I visited late March and it was a bit cold at night. The hot water on the shower runs out quickly for some reason, but I was alone and didn’t suffer much from that. No amenities included, but a few small grocery shops at walking distance.

AAnonymous User: Absolutely love this hotel. The staff was very welcoming, huge rooms and convenient location to get to the beach. It’s also close to the pick up area for island hopping to Gozo and Comino. The amenities are fully equipped, they have a nice gym and a free spa / sauna. Stunning view from their rooftop infinity pool, there’s also plenty of sun beds to sunbathe. They have a pool table and pool table at the lobby you can play for free.

CClegfly: Great location if you want to be based in Bugibba, its right by the main square and the seafront. Handy location to access Gozo, Rabat and St Julian’s but a little tedious to get to and from Valletta. Friendly staff all round. Rooms are spacious and the balcony is nice but quite a squeeze for multiple people. Did experience a power cut, a couple bugs in the room and the cleaner entered my room before I had checked out (around an hour before checkout time) but these are minor details considering the price. The “luggage storage” is just leaving your bags in the open near reception and hoping no one takes them - not the best for anxious tourists. Overall pretty decent value for a private room compared to hostels.

AAnonymous User: Here are a few polished versions, depending on the tone you’re going for: Option 1: Balanced & Polished (Best for a public review) This hotel is wonderfully dog-friendly and boasts an excellent location. However, we were placed on the 8th floor and could hear loud music from the 10th floor, so I’d recommend requesting a lower floor if you plan to turn in before midnight. The €30 pet fee is reasonable for post-stay cleaning, but unfortunately, our room floor wasn’t as clean as we’d expected upon arrival. Option 2: Concise & Direct The hotel’s dog-friendly policy and central location are major pluses. Just be aware that rooms on the 8th floor suffer from noise carryover from the 10th—book lower down if you're an early sleeper. The €30 dog fee is fair, though the floor in our room could have been cleaner at check-in.

GGuest User: Very mixed evaluation. The hotel is good and very well located, however: - the staff is not often there. We told Maria at reception that our mini-bar was not cooling. Answer, a mini-bar does not cool. We of course had two rooms and in the other, it was completely cold, even too cold. By moving the electrical outlet, it worked. It was reported but no one ever came. - room cards that didn't work three times. Every time we pass, we are told that this happens and the third time, we are told that it is because the tourist tax is not paid. Ironically, we went to reception twice to do this but were told later. - incredible noise in the hotel. The hotel receives groups of young teenagers and they are hellish, we couldn't really sleep until 1-2am. - if you want to reach the reception, pray that your room is with the new facilities. My daughter got a new room and we got a less new one. The telephone did not work and despite reporting it to reception, nothing was done. Otherwise the hotel is good, comfortable, the indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi very good and the restaurant service is excellent. We hesitated with the Seaview and ultimately regretted it. Despite the hotel's good points, we won't be coming back there again, that's for sure.

TTarik86: Qarwa Palace Resort and Spa: This luxury hotel brand is renowned for its impeccable service and attention to detail. Guests often comment on the friendly and accommodating staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. The room they gave us was not good enough, it looks like aback-up room when the hotel is almost fully booked. No towels in the room. The staff are so friendly, they was an error with the payment of my room via the agency which supposed to be fixed at the date of arrival not the check-out time, Edward seems to be the front desk manager and he has bad attitudes , he looks down on people and he does not even smile. I have worked in hospitality more than 10 years and I never seen such behaviors and attitudes from front desk managers. The hotel is super good and worth the price, especially if you booked the room with All-inclusive. I highly recommend it.

Light meals on the boat/bring your own: There are no full meals provided during the 6-hour trip, so bring energy bars, sandwiches, or fruit to avoid getting hungry. 2. Dinner back at the jetty: Seafood restaurants/fish and chips with lemonade near Bugibba (filling and refreshing). 🏨 Accommodation Recommendations 1. St. Julian's/Sliema homestays or hotels: Close to the jetty with full amenities, preventing a rush the next day (good conditions, convenient). 2. Short-term rentals around Bugibba: Walking distance to the jetty, no need to rush in the morning (popular on weekends, book early). 🎒 Essentials 1. Personal items: ID/cash in Euros/power bank/camera/water bottle/snacks/light windbreaker (it's windy on the boat). 💡 Practical Tips 1. Transportation: San Giljan to Bugibba Jetty; taxi via Bolt/Uber is about €15–25/car (25–35 mins); bus 212 goes directly to the jetty, then walk to the boat. 2. Booking: Book in advance on GetYourGuide for €40/person; the boat leaves at 9:30 AM, so leave by 8:30 AM to allow time for traffic and finding the boat; book early during peak season. 3. Off-peak/Photography: The sun at noon makes the crystal-clear water look best; shoot the white cliffs and blue sea with the sun behind you; bring a telephoto lens/action camera to prevent water splashes. 4. Avoid pitfalls: The landing permit is free but must be applied for in advance; bring water to avoid high prices on the boat; you can enjoy the trip without getting off the boat; protect the ocean by not stepping on coral and taking your trash with you. Standing on the catamaran deck, watching the crystal-clear sea of Comino Island turn sunlight into sapphires, with the wind blowing through the sea caves and waves crashing against the white cliffs—Malta's most brilliant autumn and summer romance is all in these 6 hours. Save this, book your trip, and go!

#europehotel Stayed at Best Western Premier Malta and honestly had a really good experience. The highlight was definitely the sea view — waking up to the ocean every morning felt super relaxing. The pool area was also a big plus, perfect for slowing down and enjoying the hotel without rushing around. Breakfast with a view of the sea was probably my favorite part. It made the mornings feel a lot more like a real vacation. The location is also pretty solid — convenient, easy to get around, and a good base for exploring Malta. Overall, a very comfortable stay if you want ocean views, pool time, and a laid-back holiday vibe.

☕ Sunset at Café del Mar At Café del Mar along the Sliema coastline, you can enjoy a stunning sunset where the sky turns crimson and blends harmoniously with the calm sea. It's filled with picturesque spots, perfect for capturing memories of your trip. 🏘️📸 🌊 Għar Lapsi Cave Beach Għar Lapsi Cave Beach is great for swimming and marine activities, featuring crystal-clear waters and unique cave landscapes. It's a wonderful place to spend leisurely time surrounded by nature. 🐚💦 🌴 Sliema Coastline The Sliema coastline offers a close-up experience of Malta's blue sea, complete with walking paths. With plenty of cafes and restaurants, it's also a great spot to take a break. 🍹🌊
Popeye Village, located near Meliha, is a set left over from the movie's filming. Colorful wooden houses are crammed together along the fjord, their windows painted with cartoon characters. Actors dressed as Popeye and Olive Oyl perform regular fight scenes and spinach-eating antics; the performances are rather exaggerated and suitable for children. You can take a small boat ride around the fjord; the water is so clear you can see the rocks at the bottom. A small shop sells souvenirs and canned spinach with Popeye designs on the packaging. The overall atmosphere is relaxed, but the place isn't very big; you can see everything in about two hours.
YoYo_0T9A3B0L"The Silent City", definitely worth a visit
danijelapjComino Island is the smallest of Malta's three inhabited islands, with only a handful of permanent residents. Boats run between Comino Island and the main island of Malta. There are a few food stalls near the boat dock. There are no hotels on the island, and boat services only run until the afternoon. Plan your time well in advance, or you might miss it. The climate is mild, and even in winter it's suitable for hiking. In December, if you go, you can swim in the sea even when it's calm. You can swim near the boat drop-off and pick-up points.
M41***26The Blue Lagoon in Malta is located right next to Comino Island, and the water is so clear that you can see the sand and rocks at the bottom. The color of the seawater changes under different lighting conditions; it appears more emerald green in the morning, and only shows a pinkish-blue hue after noon. The shallow water is only knee-deep, and many people stand in the water to take photos. The beach is crowded with deck chairs and parasols, but it's quieter further out. There are stalls selling grilled fish and fruit along the shore, their aromas mingling with the sea breeze. It takes about half an hour by boat from the main island, with frequent boat services in the summer. On a sunny day, the seawater is indeed as blue as its name suggests, but the color is somewhat diminished when there are many tourists.
YoYo_0T9A3B0LOld Mint Street, located in Valletta's Old Town, is a steep street offering views of the sea and distant church domes. The houses on both sides are built of tan limestone, some walls covered in vines, and stained-glass windows gleaming in the sunlight. The street is narrow, with little traffic, perfect for a leisurely stroll, where you might occasionally encounter locals chatting on the steps. In the evening, the slanting sunlight casts long shadows, making the street feel quiet. A little further up, the outline of Castel Saint-Elmo comes into view.
YoYo_0T9A3B0LIn my opinion, the most beautiful cathedral in Europe.Easily accessible and centrally located.Entrance fee: 15 eur. Don't miss Caravaggio's works.
danijelapjUpper Barrakka Gardens sits atop Valletta's city walls, offering views of the three ancient cities across the harbor. The row of arches in the center of the garden is a popular spot for photos, through which you can see yachts and ferries moored in the harbor. Daily cannon salutes are held at noon and in the afternoon, their sound echoing throughout the harbor. Benches are situated under the shade of the trees in the garden, where locals enjoy sitting to read newspapers or chat. A sloping elevator leads down from the garden to the waterfront.
YoYo_0T9A3B0LThe Royal Palace of Malta is located in the heart of Valletta. The greyish-white limestone building has a modest exterior, but the interior is quite impressive. The Neptune Courtyard at the entrance is a typical Mediterranean style, and its galleries are photogenic. The most worthwhile exhibit is the Armory, which houses over 5,000 pieces of medieval knightly armor and weapons, displayed in the original hall, allowing visitors to imagine the life of the knightly order. Some rooms contain murals depicting the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. It reopened after restoration in 2024; adult tickets cost approximately €12.
YoYo_0T9A3B0LThe Blue Grotto, located on the south coast of Malta's main island, is a sea cave carved into limestone cliffs. A small boat passes through the narrow opening, where sunlight streams in through gaps above the water, turning the seawater a deep blue-green. The boatman will moor the boat deep inside the cave, allowing you to see the outlines of the underwater rocks. When the waves are high outside, the boat will rise and fall with the surge. This tour is relatively short, lasting about ten minutes, but on a clear day, you can truly see the rare colors. The tour duration is greatly affected by sea conditions, so it's recommended to inquire about boat availability in advance.
YoYo_0T9A3B0LFort Saint-Angelo sits atop a promontory in Birgu, its greyish-yellow limestone walls roughened by the sea winds. Inside, the castle retains its former gun emplacements and stone-paved passageways. From the higher points of the walls, one can see the Valletta skyline and the military camp opposite. Guides will recount the history of the 1565 siege, describing the details of starvation and firearms in a detached tone. There's a small chapel in the castle; most of the frescoes have peeled away, with only the image of the Virgin Mary remaining clear. The sea breeze, carrying the salty and rusty smell, pours in through the arched windows. Overall, it's a place worth spending half a day exploring, suitable for those interested in military history.
