Kuopio Villas

Puijonsarvi is legendary - it had the coolest night club in town in the 1980's :) The hotel has an excellent location near Kuopio's main attractions and the breakfast buffet is maybe the best I've had at this hotel chain. Service is always friendly no matter how busy the house may be.

Tutto molto piccolo, ristretto, essenziale. L'aspetto più interessante dal mio punto di vista è la centralità dell'albergo. Appena sistemati, siamo usciti a piedi perché la piccola città di Kopio si gira benissimo orientandosi con le banchine del porto fluviale, il campanile della cattedrale in legno, le sirene delle imbarcazioni.. Ritmo slow, very slow per questa cittadina a scacchiera che ricorda la grande Seattle. Dall'albergo dunque visita al vecchio quartiere popolare delle case colorate in legno e alla modernissima biblioteca e gli edifici progettati da A Alto e coll.

The first time I came to Kuopio, Finland, I chose this hotel. The overall experience was quite good! The hotel staff is warm, the infrastructure is complete and the experience is very good. The sauna is comfortable, the first time I have a free sauna in the hotel.

Upraded rooms with air-conditioning. The hotel is located in a building from the 70's and it seems they have done a partitial renovation. Some things seem older than others. All the basics work well, nothing special to mention. The hotel is located in a beautiful location by the lake Kallavesi, but the scenery is sadly totally lost, you really see it only from the staircase (or room, if it has lake-view). There is a terrace on the lake-side, but no service there. Hotel's pool was being renovated, so we couldn't try it. Breakfast was ok, I've had better breakfast in other Scandic hotels. Item labels were misplaced and many items (for example smoothie) had way too much sugar in them.
