Golden Palm Boutique Zanzibar

The hygiene is very average. The bed feels unwashed. There are unknown hairs on the sheets. If you stay here, it is recommended to bring a disposable three-piece suit. You have to bring your own towels. They only provide a bed and a place to shower. There are a lot of flies in the dining area, and the beach behind is full of garbage and seaweed. The service is very good, whether it is the front desk or the restaurant staff. The eggs for breakfast are not bad, and there are a few kittens.
The Neela Boutique Hotel Stone Town

I had the most unforgettable stay at the truly 5 star Neela Boutique Hotel in Stone Town. From the moment I arrived, Ayubu and Hossein were amazing and took care of us with such genuine hospitality, making us feel at home right away. The hotel is centrally located, making it incredibly easy to explore all the points of interest in Stone Town, from historical sites to the bustling markets. The architecture is breathtaking, blending traditional Zanzibari charm with modern elegance. Each room is a work of art, with meticulous attention to detail that makes every space feel luxurious and unique. The rooftop terrace was the highlight of our stay, where we enjoyed an incredible dinner with stunning views of the city and the Indian Ocean. The atmosphere was magical, and the food was nothing short of spectacular.I can’t recommend Neela Boutique Hotel enough – from the impeccable service to the beautiful design and ideal location, it’s truly a gem in the heart of Stone Town. A perfect place to experience luxury while soaking in the rich history of Zanzibar!

We spent a beautiful stay at DOZ from August 29 to September 10 2019.nous We were very welcome. We recommend the different restaurants that you eat very well. The hotel is excellent, staff are always at the small care on the beach, breakfast, dinner and always with a smile. Cocktails are very good. Zanzibar is a beautiful country where there are very beautiful beaches. We will return there without waiting for too long before a mass tourism that risks degrading the image of this beautiful country. Thank you again to Mwinyi and the staff of the DOZ.
Golden Tulip Zanzibar Airport

The front desk provided a room that was already occupied. When we checked in at 23:00 late at night and opened the door, a middle-aged man was already sleeping on the bed. The man was frightened and very angry. Similarly, we were also very frightened and felt very embarrassed. For such a misunderstanding, the front desk only apologized to the man, but did not apologize to us. After changing rooms, our twin bed room was changed to a double bed room. The hotel did not explain this. Because it was late at night, we gave up changing beds and rested. There was a musty smell in the room, and a bottle of mineral water was empty, and it was not cleaned. There were many flies flying around in the restaurant during breakfast. I am very dissatisfied with this accommodation experience.
Hotel Verde Zanzibar - Azam Luxury Resort and Spa

I had not planned to stay at this hotel but spontaneously decided to book it as I wanted to experience Stone Town before I left Zanzibar. It’s a little out of Stone Town so you need to get a taxi ($15 each way). The hotel is very corporate. I think it’s where a lot of the airline crew stay as they kept asking me if I was airline crew. It was also completely empty. I think I was possibly the only guest and the hotel is pretty big. There seemed to be hundreds of staff so you would expect them to be attentive. Unfortunately not. Most of them just stood around chatting to each other. The service overall was pretty disappointing. I even had to bring my own bags to reception where there were loads of staff just standing around doing nothing. That said, I had a large swimming pool completely to myself and the rooms are very comfortable. If you want traditional design, don’t opt for this one. If you just want a bit of modern luxury - this is a great option. If they could sort out the service and even just a few more guests to give it a bit of atmosphere, it would score slightly higher.
