The Ruijin Hotel's Taiyuan Villa (Shanghai Ruijin Binguan Taiyuan Bieshu) is a boutique hotel set in a gorgeous, Concession-era villa on charming Taiyuan Road in Shanghai's Xuhui District. Its location puts it in the heart of the Former French Concession and within easy access of Huaihai Road. Metro Lines 1, 7, 9 and 10 are all within a 15-minute walk and the neighborhood is home to a number of lively bars and restaurants. Built in 1928, Taiyuan Villa features many of the French architectural styles that were popular in the days before Shanghai's dramatic modernization with its Mansard roof, French windows, and eclectic interior with a recurring fleur de lys motif. The well-appointed guest rooms have been painstakingly maintained to preserve their old-school charm.A colorful history makes this one of the most interesting buildings in Shanghai. Requisitioned by the Japanese Imperial Army from 1941-45 it was later used as a government guesthouse during the first three decades of the People's Republic. Countless New China luminaries have stayed here with Jiang Qing ("Madam Mao") a big fan of the locale.
"Advantages: 1. The central lawn is amazing. Please take time to walk in the yard after getting up early and eating. You can find the Tyndall effect. If you are lucky, you may even meet a cute cat. 2. The room is decorated in a retro style and has a large area. It is recommended to live in the main building. I really like the creaking sound of stepping on the wooden floor. And the windows and fireplace in the room have attracted me from beginning to end. Disadvantages: 1. The floor tiles in the bathroom are so simple that I can't bear to look at them. 2. Takeaways cannot be delivered to the room (this is really unbearable). 3. If there are guests next door, the sounds of walking, closing doors, and washing will follow. 4. The bedding is average and standard. 5. The shower water temperature is extremely unstable, sometimes cold and sometimes hot.
There are two types of breakfast, Chinese and Western. It is not a common buffet. The taste is okay. As for the service, to be honest, it is not good or bad, just ordinary."

The experience was beyond our expectations when we stayed at Xianshe Villa for our visit to Shanghai Disneyland. The environment was clean and tidy, the housekeeper service was warm and considerate, the auntie's breakfast was nutritious, and the driver picked us up at Disneyland safely and on time. The villa provided both the warmth of home and the services and supporting facilities of a five-star hotel. The experience was perfect. My child is already looking forward to staying at Xianshe Villa for the next Disney trip with her classmates and bestie.

They offer a shuttle service to Disneyland, and when we returned in the evening, the owner even had mung bean soup ready to help us cool down, which was incredibly thoughtful. GGuest UserSome time ago, I went to Chongming Island with my friends and stayed in Villa No. 100 of Shanghai Xiangying Holiday Villa. The experience was so good that I must share it with you!
As soon as I arrived at the villa, the Southeast Asian style architecture attracted me. The design of the single-family house and courtyard is super private, surrounded by green plants and full of negative oxygen ions. I heard from the staff that the villa is next to Dongping National Forest Park. Sure enough, the air is fresh and pleasant, just like living in a natural oxygen bar.
The interior space of the villa is very spacious, with five bedrooms of different styles, three of which have bathtubs. It is so comfortable to take a bath when you are tired. Although the living room is not big, it has all the entertainment facilities such as KTV, mahjong table, and TV. A group of us sang and played mahjong in it, and we had a lot of fun. The small courtyard is my favorite place. We put tables and chairs, and everyone sat around to drink tea and chat, enjoying the leisure time.
There is nothing to say about the service. The staff is warm and thoughtful, asked about our needs attentively, and delivered the required items in time. The room was clean and warm, and it was very comfortable to stay in. The location of the villa is excellent, close to Dongping National Forest Park, and you can reach it on foot. There are many farmhouses around, so you don't have to worry about finding food.
I was really satisfied with this stay. Whether it is a family gathering or a trip with friends, it is very suitable. I will come again next time if I have the chance!

The villa was well-equipped, featuring a full kitchen with a frying pan, cooking pot, steaming pot, and all necessary utensils. There were 3.5 bathrooms stocked with complimentary toiletries, including house shoes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, rugs, soap, shampoo, and hand wash. The fully functioning fridge, complete with a refrigerator, semi-freezer, and freezer, was ready for use.

The backyard was a highlight, with outdoor seating and a grill for barbecuing. Inside, there was a dining room with ample seating. The location on Chong Ming Island made it easy to reach by taxi, and the surrounding neighborhood was quiet and beautiful.

Overall Experience
Our overall experience was very positive. The kids loved the villa, particularly the fourth-floor basement, which was equipped with a karaoke machine, arcade games, a Mahjong table, playing cards, and various board games.

Eekas_19The hotel provides a shuttle to and from Disneyland, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast from 7-9am, clean linens, complimentary water, a kettle, towels (7 for two), a toothbrush, hot water, and working air conditioning (we slept warmly).
There's a convenience store 50 meters away from us that's open all day until 9:30pm. The lovely woman working there makes delicious sweet buns. We paid only 33 yuan (less than 400 rubles) for a whole bag.
The hotel's location is slightly different from where the GPS showed us; the building is lower, by the water, but the owner's neighbor quickly called him and they picked us up.
The room is cleaned and always ready to help.
I don't understand why there are several bad reviews, because for the price, this place has everything!
We want to say a big thank you for the amenities provided, and I highly recommend it!

@@chunyangThe location is fantastic, very close to all the main attractions. The front desk staff, both the guys and girls, were super friendly and even gave us a small gift when we checked out. They thoughtfully offered a guaranteed late check-out until 2 PM.
The mini-bar was complimentary, and the welcome fruit and evening milk were a really nice touch. The only downsides were that the single room was a bit small and the shower pressure was low. Otherwise, everything was impeccable.

GGuest UserChoosing the right accommodation for my Shanghai Disneyland trip was a great experience! The hotel environment was excellent; the rooms were clean and tidy, with a compact yet cozy layout, and some greenery outside the window, perfectly meeting all my travel needs. The service was a pleasant surprise. The free shuttle bus was incredibly punctual; I confirmed the time a day in advance, and it took me directly to the park entrance in the morning, saving me the hassle of taking a taxi. The front desk even thoughtfully prepared breakfast, which I missed because I entered the park early, but this attention to detail was incredibly heartwarming. The return shuttle bus was also easy to find, and the staff were friendly throughout. For Disneyland visitors, it was extremely convenient and offered exceptional value!

To be honest, I was initially hesitant; I had originally booked the Yan'an Hotel, but was persuaded by the travel agency to switch to this place. On the eve of the 24th anniversary of '913' (September 13th), I was in the attic room here, rushing to meet my school deadlines. On the evening of September 13th, Shanghai was hit by a heavy downpour. My family and I were having dinner at the adjacent Xi Family Garden. We borrowed two umbrellas from Manager Zhang at the front desk, one of his own and one from a colleague. I'm truly grateful for this trust, and also want to thank Manager Zhang for his thoughtful service over the past two days.
