Roebuck Bay Backpackers and Party Bar
4.6/52 Reviews
Everything was very easy and convenient and the staff were super helpful. Fun place connected to a pub and a party bar The other guests were from all over the world so it's a very interesting environment.
Kimberley Travellers Lodge - Broome YHA
3.8/526 Reviews
Staying at a YHA is always a calculated risk but with accommodation booked out in Broome months and months in advance (not to mention the outrageous prices charged in the dry season!!), I thought I would give it a go. Quite frankly, I’ve been mind-boggled by the amount of lazy, selfish individuals (generally late teens/20-somethings) who just leave all their dirty cups and dishes and empty food and drink containers all over the place as well as the filthy mess they leave the kitchen in. The free breakfast items are left open and uncapped or uncovered on the benches, with used cutlery covered in spreads dumped there for all the flies from the unclosed sliding kitchen door to feast on. The milk/butter is rarely returned to the fridge. They never wipe down the mess they make but generally leave it for others to do. This occurs on a daily basis. I can’t imagine the state of their homes! The one shining light in all this havoc is manager Shaun who is always so kind, helpful and accommodating. Apart from all that, the very basic rooms are fine, if minamilistic, and the shared bathrooms are cleaned daily (thank goodness!). There is free wifi but this doesn’t work in the rooms, even the private ones. I have to say this experience has been an eye-opener to say the least.
The Continental Hotel
4.1/579 Reviews
This hotel is in a prime position overlooking the bay. The Tripadviser map in this listing, as seen on my computer at least, shows the wrong position. The hotel is down the end of Weld Street opposite Bedford Park, giving unrestricted views to Roebuck Bay. All the local features are in walking distance as this location is between China Town and the Town Beach and pier. Matso's is nearby and the markets are at the other end of Weld St. It's also just a 20 minute walk to the airport which we did because we did (just backpacks) for a morning flight because we had time. There is a bus stop very near The Conti and the half hourly service takes you through China Town and on to Cable Beach. The Conti itself is a wonderful blend of relaxed efficiency. All staff we met were skilled and friendly. There was no problem that they weren't happy to successfully deal with. We enjoyed the garden atmosphere in the alfresco dining area/pool area/garden area. It just represents Broome rather than what you might get from a modern build. We had two stays there and both rooms were of a high standard and had a private outdoor sitting area overlooking the garden and pool area. It was very relaxing. Overall, it was a great place to stay in Broome.
Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa

Booked through Luxury Escapes Voucher for 4 nights. Arrived one day late to check-in due to miscommunication, was not contacted by hotel to check whereabouts. Was greeted by helpful reception staff, and champagne. Staff did honour voucher inclusions ie. drink vouchers x8. Difficult to park to check in as not much space for car at reception. Secure parking was good, but the closest car park was still quite a walk from our room, especially in the Broome heat with a lot of luggage as we were on 6 week road trip and no assistance offered for luggage. Car park filled up quickly, and we were left with spaces even further away at times. Room was adequate, exhaust fan in bathroom very loud, ironing board broken (replaced upon request), no complimentary water in fridge, unlike other cheaper hotels. Good television, nice private balcony, good quality toiletries, otherwise unremarkable room. Breakfast was tasty, with good options. Beautiful to sit out overlooking the sunset at the sunset bar. Ocean pool nice, but food only served until 4pm, drinks only until 5:30pm despite plenty of guests still at the pool at 5:30. Advised to utilize sunset bar after this time. Unfortunately, not all restaurants open due to Covid/ off season. Good cocktail menu and quality, different menus at each bar. The resort was well staffed, and maintained, however seemed to be lacking the luxury resort feel we were expecting, especially for the price. Unfortunately it falls short in some areas and did not quite live up to expectations. Overall, unremarkable stay, nothing special.
Cocos Beach Bungalows
4.8/543 Reviews
Just fantastic to have a stand alone bungalow in a lush secluded setting. The room was well serviced with amenities (dishwasher, washing machine, Foxtel, webber bbq etc.) and made it feel like a home away from home. 😄 Pool was great to spend some time relaxing and the beach, fine dining restaurants and bus were all within walking distance. The really big screen over the road (Spinifex) was fantastic to watch the footy and is a great new place to eat and enjoy a drink. Thanks Ross, appreciated that nothing was too much trouble and for contributing to a perfect stay in wonderful Broome. Give Coco's belly a scratch for me 😉
The Pearle of Cable Beach

Booked it as it was advertised on Qantas Hotels and assumed that meant it had food services and was a hotel as I did not have a car, was on my own and knew Broome was not a place to wander around after dark with lots of restaurants. Arrived early, was told the room would be ready at 12 ish. Was headed to the races. Room was not ready (although others that arrived with me were accommodated). Got ready in a steaming toilet with no air con. No food or mini bar snacks so rushed back to cafe at 4:20 before it was supposed to close at 4:30 to grab something for dinner (no Uber eats in Broome!) and it had shut at 4pm contrary to info supplied at check in. Luckily I grabbed a bag of chips at check in - dinner. Pretty depressing. Especially after coming off a Ponant cruise. The room I was put in was attached to another room via an internal door which was not particularly sound proof. Very poor value for money at $430 per night and so pleased I was only in there one night. Sept was not too hot but watch out if booking in summer as the air con is stuck at 24 C and there are no fly screens so you cannot sleep with fresh air as was warned about local security risks on check in. To keep the door locked at all times. No 24 service. Staff leave at 5pm then you are literally on your own which is not what I thought I had booked (hotel/staff/food/security etc around at all times). It felt like a fancy caravan park surrounded by other less fancy caravan parks.
