Everything was a wonderful experience, and I was lucky enough to be able to see the Aurora from the room. The service staff were also very friendly, and the luggage trolley in the form of a sled was very interesting.

Nice place to stay with easy access to amenities and holiday activities. Breakfast spread is good and facilities are well upkeep. Room price is on the expensive side with limited availability. Due to the placement of the rooms, it might be challenging for some people, especially older folks, to move from reception to their rooms to carry their baggage. There are no WiFi, TV, fridge, or desk phone in certain rooms. Most likely a one-time experience to stay and that's about it.

Buffet breakfast, diversified styles, my favorite salmon, eggplant juice beans and wheat skin, and a self-service waffles machine, let the guests make their own waffles 🧇, hot and very delicious! The hotel is on the side of the river in River Juutua, you can see the beautiful view of the river in the restaurant and room, first-class enjoyment! The front desk clerk was happy to answer our questions, and some were smiling! The waiters and food in the hotel restaurant (Aanaar) reached the level of a 5-star hotel. When serving, each dish will be explained, what is its main dish, side dish and juice! The most unfortunately, the thermostat does not have temperature, and the weather is not too cold. There is a hot tube for drying clothes in the bathroom, and the wet clothes are drying quickly!

Right next to the bus stop, there is no need to find a place after arriving, the lady boss will go out to greet him personally, and the store is very enthusiastic! You can see the aurora basically when you leave the room (if you are lucky), there is also a bonfire waiting for the aurora. The bonfire is on the river bank, there is no light pollution. There are also projects such as skiing, snowmobiling, husky sledding, but it’s a little more expensive than the Sarika’s. The breakfast is 10 euros for one person, a typical European breakfast, the portion is sufficient and the taste is not bad. The apartment where the four of us live is also a small wooden house. The sanitary conditions are very good, and the room is quiet and suitable for posing. All in all, I highly recommend staying here for two or three days. The chalet here is not worse than the glass house in Sarika!

We had a fantastic stay in the beginning of January 2024. Our Standard Room without sauna (all other rooms/cabins were booked) was in a row with little huts. The room was big and cosy. You can book private time slots in a sauna viewing the frozen lake via reception. The activities are great fun (we did husky sled ride, reindeer farm visit, snow shoe walking) in small groups and the trips are well organized. Should you need warm clothes you can borrow everything for free. Snow suit, shoes, woollen socks, helmet, ….We brought our own clothes but I borrowed a snow suit for the husky ride . At arrival we had -21 C degrees (-5,8 F). Was not bad at all. It only feels very cold when you have an icy wind in addition. Dinner is delicious !!! Breakfast was horrible gluten free bread o n l y (in the evening they had normal freshly made yummy bread) & gluten free pancake dough, lactose free cheese (this is the only cheese available in Finland, because people there can not tolerate lactose). Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I was not impressed. The staff was cheerful, helpful and always asked about your day. They must have heard every activity story a million times but they still get excited with you. Very sweet. In the beginning of January it was still very dark, (sun) rise of light about 10am and sunset about 2 pm. We did not see the northern lights. One fellow guest had been at the hotel at the exact days the year before and saw them every day (and therefore had booked the same dates 2024 ;-). So you never know. It is an adults only hotel and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Wifi only works at reception = the big house with guest lounge/breakfast&dinner room. Advice: Bring a special spray or anti fog wipes if you wear glasses. You need it when you wear a balaclava or scarf over your nose. Also heat pads for you shoes are great, I was happy with the pads from the heat company. I loved it there and would come again.

Our stay at Esko’s Cabins was simple incredible. This was our first trip to Finland, and we were mesmerised by its beauty. We flew into Ivalo airport, and after a night there we made our way from Ivalo bus station to Inari where Esko picked us up. On arrival he showed us to our cabin. It was perfect, lots of room for our luggage, a very comfortable bed, toilet, colour changing lights, and beautiful views from the huge windows. We headed over to basecamp. The attention to detail and design here was amazing. There was space in the communal area to relax with a full kitchen to use as needed with tea and coffee available. The toilets and showers are here too with all you could need, towels, slippers, shower gel, etc. There are also show suits, boots, socks and gloves and high vis jackets available to use too. We arrived early afternoon and used the kick sledges to explore. We headed down to the village (about 1km away) and went to the Siida Museum which was great (nice café too). We then headed down the road and had few drinks in PaPaNa (bar and pizza restaurant). Our first night we chose to eat at the cabins in the BBQ hut. Our food was cooked on the open fire in the middle of the hut whilst we chatted and drank local glogi – a wonderful experience which I would highly recommend. The time came to go out onto the lake. Flasks were available to make up, and we sat on the bed whilst being towed out into the darkness. It was an awesome experience to be there on the lake. The sky was star filled and magical, with just a hint of the aurora for us (an excuse to return to try again). We stood outside and took in the silence and stillness of our surroundings which was incredible. Breakfast was great and nothing was too much trouble – we were so well looked after. Our trips and transport were all booked and we paid for it all (by card) at the end of our trip. We went out into the forest and did some skiing which was fantastic – the beauty of the landscape was just amazing. We were picked up for our snowmobiling trip. This was across the lake and was such fun, we saw reindeer roaming around and stopped for a drink at one of Finland’s wilderness camping sites. We spent some more time in the village, having a meal and drinks. The hospitality from everyone we met was second to none. Of course, I must mention the sauna. This is log fired and simply wonderful. Standing out in the snow then getting into the sauna was an experience not to be missed. The team were exceptional, we were made so welcome and really switched off from the world for our stay.
