The hotel is actually on the slope, and the place you navigated to is down the slope. The car can park on the side of the road for free, and the hotel is monitored. Ring the bell uphill to open the door to enter, pass a small flower courtyard and a long corridor, and check in on the second floor. Our room is on the fifth floor. The two bedrooms are separated. There is a separate bathroom. There is a large terrace outside. It is great to sit outside on a sunny day the next day. There is a door on the fifth floor to go directly to the upper city of Ragusa. You can swipe your room card, which is very convenient. In the morning, the breakfast was quite rich. The front desk of the dinner hotel introduced a restaurant not far from the city. In the 16th-century house, the dishes, environment and service are very good. In winter, there are few people, so we will book a meal during our meal.

This hotel is a former palace so the room is decorated in baroque style. The breakfast room is beautiful with a very good breakfast and service. That’s all for the positives Firstly , it’s not located at the older , historic part of town. It’s about 30 min walk down the hill and multiple stairs and then 30 min walk back up the stairs and up the hill. I booked the suite since we were traveling with 2 kids and got a large room with 2 uncomfortable foldable beds for the kids. When asked for a beach towel, was told that the charge was 5 euros per person ( charge , not a deposit!!). I would advise to stay elsewhere in beautiful Ragusa.

Starting with the rooms, our one was wonderful, felt like we were in a wooden hut, clean, lovely decor and a mini kitchen. Our bed was very comfortable, whereas the kids slept on a pull out Sofa bed that was slightly downward slanted and not very sturdy but relatively comfortable to sleep on. So 4.5 for the room. The infinity pool had amazing views and was very tranquil but the pool temperature was a bit too cold. Mostly enjoyed by adults rather than children. Rated 3.5 as a whole. Breakfast okay, rating 4. Food: lunch was very overpriced for what we got and although the dinner was nice, severely overpriced. The bar was under stocked so no cocktails and only mixers Coca Cola or Tonic so I was very disappointed by the catering despite the staff, including the chef being very hospitable. Catering rating 3 because of price and bar limitations. If we were to visit again I would do a supermarket trip so we could make lunch in our room, given there’s a kitchenette (inc. Cooker and crockery). So the hotel has great potential just needs some tweaks here and there to get it to where it should be.

Absolutely top notch. My husband and I first came to Ragusa 12 years ago. Much has changed but thankfully much has stayed the same in the town. We were happy to discover Itria Palace when we were planning our itinerary. We stayed in a family room that consisted of two rooms, three beds and two showers. The room was accessible by stairs or lift. It was quiet, clean, super comfortable bed and pillows with very cold air conditioning. Breakfast in the morning was delightful featuring plenty of the usual Italian standards but also included local offerings which were delicious. A member of staff was on hand to prepare caffe and cappuccino for guests. We will absolutely return!

Hotel di grande impatto all'arrivo, prospetti esterni curati, ingresso ed hall affascinanti anche se l'accessibilità sarebbe migliorabile soprattutto in tema di facilità di trasporto dei bagagli e presenza di barriere architettoniche (saliscendi di gradini ed assenza di rampe per disabili). Personale molto gentile e disponibile.....quando però lo si riesce a rintracciare, soprattutto telefonicamente! Abbiamo infatti avuto più di una volta difficoltà a farci rispondere al telefono dalla reception, con lunghi quarti d'ora in tentativi andati a vuoto. Caratteristica davvero poco ”luxury”, per non dire inaccettabile! Pulizia delle camere all'apparenza ottimale ma tiratina d'orecchie alle governanti, che non si curano di rimuovere le briciole della colazione dalla scrivania, segnale di scarsa attenzione. A proposito di colazione, peraltro ”imposta” in camera poichè (a detta del personale) si sarebbe evitato in tal modo di intasare la sala colazioni in un periodo di grande affollamento, ci è arrivato tutto tranne quello che avevamo annotato nella comanda consegnata alla reception la sera prima, quindi burro e marmellata ma senza pane, caffè e cappuccino ma senza lo zucchero ecc.. Room service pomeridiano, consistente in tre toast, arrivati in camera dopo 40 minuti con ripieno ancora freddo di frigorifero. Kit di cortesia in bagno non rimpiazzato quindi doccia con saponetta. Basterebbe mettere dei dispenser di docciashampoo in luogo di un flaconcino griffato Bulgari da 10 ml, nettamente insufficiente per due persone. Letto molto comodo con menu per la scelta del cuscino, davvero apprezzabile. La camera è carina e ben climatizzata ma entrando non si percepisce di trovarsi nella città del Barocco, sembrerebbe di stare in un qualsiasi business hotel di qualsiasi città del pianeta e tale aspetto contrasta con la bellezza architettonica degli esterni. Oltretutto ha un non so che di trasandato, probabilmente a causa del trascorrere del tempo, come le guarnizioni della doccia ingiallite e qualche buco nella testiera in ecopelle del letto (si allega foto). Spa molto bella ma ci sentiamo di suggerire a chi se ne occupa di non farla trovare allagata dai ”gocciolamenti” degli utenti che ne hanno usufruito subito prima, non è gradevole nè igienico. Non siamo soliti lasciare recensioni di tale tenore ma speriamo che le osservazioni ivi contenute possano servire a migliorare alcuni importanti aspetti in una struttura dalle grandi potenzialità. Located out in the fields about 10 km from town. The hotel privately owned is old world & beautiful. Hotel staff are very friendly & helpful. We had a room with a lovely balcony, were we sat each night. Very comfortable beds. The restaurant carries the prices of the Michelin hat it achieve in 2018. We did not eat there as we did not fancy the menu, but mainly the 4 euro cover charge p/p the highest cover charge we have seen in the 10 weeks we have been in Italy & Sicily. The breakfast is lovely, a large variety on offer, The first breakfast offer where the hot food is actually hot. The only negative the cleaners do not include the balcony in their cleaning routine, our table was filthy & a sun chair had droppings on it reception tried to tell us it may have rained????? beautiful blue skies, & if so why wasn't it cleaned during our stay.

Ho viaggiato per lavoro, l’hotel è molto bello nel centro di Ragusa, camere spaziose e confortevoli, personale dall’ospitalità eccezionale, gentili e super disponibili. Il driver messo a disposizione, Danilo, oltre a cortesia ed educazione è stato disponibile a ogni ora del giorno e della notte anche senza preavviso. Esperienza da incorniciare!

We stayed in 10 hotels/b&b’s during our time in Sicily and many were lovely but La Casa Del Gelsomino stood out from the crowd. The room & bathroom were nice sizes and very comfortable. We had a little balcony with 2 chairs and a table overlooking the garden & pool and city view. Breakfast was delicious with many homemade and local made treats. Giovanna goes out of her way to be helpful. The garden is lovely & relaxing. The pool an absolute delight.  We didn’t have time to use the hot tub. Easy walking from the B&B to anywhere. Highly recommend.  (Our GPS did not properly direct us to the property so I’ll include here that you need to drive on what looks like a pedestrian street through the main town square under a tunnel and follow the street around a curve one block up. It is really easy but didn’t seem so the first time we did it. )
