Four Points by Sheraton Juneau

Hotel is on the older side but very clean. Not open for breakfast, but they give you a paper bag with a water bottle and some snacks at check in. Juneau is so small that any location is a good one, and I found the bed comfortable. Updated furnishings, tech and a full service restaurant would improve the experience, but I managed just fine. My only real complaint were all the homeless people who stand outside the door and immediately panhandle as soon as you walk outside… not sure if the hotel can fix this or not, just a sign of the times.

This review is relatively objective - this USA road trip encompassed 5 properties in Alaska over 9 nights and a total of 25 over 47 nights. We stayed for 3 nights in June. Excellent pick up from the nearby airport (no noise)/drop off at the ferry port at Auke Bay. Our Deluxe room was large enough, comfortable and well equipped. Twin beds were not available, so a roll up turned the queen bed room into a twin. The shutters were not blackout, so the early sunrise did intrude. Decent linen and towels. The property, which is an old converted house ,felt welcoming and comfortably ‘non chain hotel’ furnished. Plenty of parking out front for those driving. No elevator for anyone with a mobility problem. Check in was efficient, but one of the issues we encountered was that none of the staff had any idea about the public buses that run directly in front of the hotel into town, locally and close to the Mendenhall Glacier NP. Yes there is a shuttle downtown (if you want to experience a massive ‘cruise ship alley’ shopping experience ) but the local buses ran everywhere (every 30 mins) and were tremendous value/much more convenient. No attempt made to even find the necessary information for us and no handouts/timetables available. At a hotel of this standard we expected better. Breakfast was to a decent standard, however, we did not appreciate being pestered/hassled upon completing breakfast to order content/time for the following day! A restaurant is advertised both on TA and on the roadside hotel board. Yes, dinner is available, but on a very limited ‘pre order’ menu. There is no liqour licence and we were brusquely told that we couldn’t drink our own wine with the meal as there were ‘under age’ employees on the premises. Not at all acceptable for a hotel of this class/price. Dining atmosphere zero! There are dining options available locally of the pizza/diner variety. What could have been a wonderful experience was marred by the above issues.

Very pleased with this hotel. We were in the 1 bedroom suite. Plenty of space. Looks to be recently remodeled. We stayed a total of 4 nights during 3 separate stays. The staff was great at dropping us off twice at the airport and at the ferry terminal and picking us up. All staff members we interacted with were very helpful. Not to many choices within walking distance to eat, but we quickly figured out the bus system. The Valley Restaurant nearby has good food.

Was a good stay. The room was a bit to warm for me when I got checked in, but was able to lower the room temperature. Good clean room with a nice firm bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Being next to McDonalds and the Breeze In are also very good options

Shauna, Well, you duped me in to staying at your hotel and I will never do that again. Let’s start at what you have on the internet and compare that to reality: Hotel Description Be sure to enjoy recreational amenities including an indoor pool and a fitness center. Additional features at this hotel include complimentary wireless internet access, barbecue grills, and a vending machine. A complimentary on-the-go breakfast is served daily from 6 AM to 9:30 AM. I was not able to enjoy the indoor pool. It has not been functional for a very long time. The fitness center was lacking important fitness options. Wireless was too slow for it to be usable, and you wanted to charge for an upgrade. I only found soda vending machines, not a snack one or even an ICE machine. The complimentary breakfast was nowhere to be found one day. An empty box of donuts the next day was available (picture for reference is attached). Today, there was 2 packets of oatmeal with a stack of dirty bowls. Not very inviting and a good reason to go somewhere else for breakfast. Get this off your descriptions of the hotel! Based on other things I have found you may want to add the following amenities: Drug ******* hanging around the front of the building smoking up under the front awning. Broken elevator at the beginning of my stay Funny smell in the hallway Lumpy Mattresses Door Keys that won’t stay programmed. Front desk people that don’t seem to like their job. Hoping someone is sitting by the front desk to let you in to register as the doors are locked 24/7 or you will be standing there for a while. I really hope you don’t run all your hotels this way. The positives were as follows: I could easily walk there from the airport. (This is something you and your employees didn’t do anything about) I am sure it is possible to run a budget hotel and make it a nice place to stay, you and your team don’t seem to be able to do that. While I am only visiting Juneau for work purposes maybe 3-4 weeks out of the year, I don’t think I will choose to stay here again.
Ramada by Wyndham Juneau

Stay at ramada was a 4/5 with early check in and nice and supportive staff. Location was near and walkable from downtown. Every excursion pickup point is literally 5-10min walkable from hotel. Only reasons for not giving 5/5 are 1. Room Phone was not working 2. Temperature control of Shower if our room was not working though they did provide alternate room just for shower purpose I would recommend this hotel for nearness to downtown and especially friendly staff
