My stay was disgusting and the receptionist (manager) was rude, mean, dismissive and argumentative. She has no empathy, doesn't care, she acted like I was inconveniencing her by just checking in and checking out. She would stare at me with utter distain. No ounce of customer service skills. Then had the audacity to call me rude and told me to get people skills. I was merely reacting to her being nasty and my taking money. She has no professionalism what so ever constantly acts like she is annoyed. She acted like she owned me and was trying to be my mummy She yelled at me and stole my money. The accommodation is disgusting, I dont even know where to start Upon arrival I thought there was no one there, I was left standing there. I didn't realise the receptionist was in the office ignoring me until a lady with a duffle bag went into the office and I asked the lady if someone was there to which she said yes. So I went to pop head in to say hello and the receptionist set on me growling at me and being nasty telling me to get and go away. She was rude and treated me like a criminal during check in. The room was impossible to find but I found it eventually. She heartless and inconsiderate. It's not a hotel it's a hostel Upon check out the receptionist acted like she was pissed off that I wanted to check out. She growled me because I touched the reception desk, there was some old tape hanging off and I kinda played with it and she just kept growling me and yelling at me saying I was ripping it when I wasn't and she wouldn't let me speak or shut up. I had to yell over her to check me out. She refused to give my money back because there was a hair dye transfer from me bright red hair on a towel. I explained the dye is water soluble and it will wash out. Never mind that my makeup and mascara were on the towels. She staring yelling at me and would only give me 80 dollars in the end. She only gave it to me because I argued with her she was going to take the whole 100. I had folded the towels, emptied the rubbish wipes the floors. She had to unfold the towels like literally look through a customer's washing. She was looking for a reason not to give my money back. When I was trying to explain the room situation she yelled at me and talked over me I was just trying to have a discussion about the issues with the accommodation and she yelled at me and growled at me for not complaining sooner. I can actually raise an issue whenever I please. The fridge leaked in the middle of the night and I used a towel to clean that up. Out of courtesy I placed a towel on a pillow to sleep to avoid hair dye transfer. The room was gross the shared toilet and bathroom were gross there was urine on the underside of the toilets. The shared kitchen area was gross There's like a ventilation system above the bed covered with dust, grime and build up which fell on me and the bed so I pulled it away. No mirrors! The draws and furniture are so old and tatty and smell bad.

We have always enjoyed staying at QT Museum Hotel. We were given the option to upgrade to a Seaview room on the top floor with an additional charge. Seeing it is a more quiet room compared to my booking request on the 1st floor near road traffic and rubbish bin area, I paid the extra for the upgrade per night for 2 nights. Our room was not serviced well the following day. Rubbish bin in the bathroom being the only one was not emptied. The Bath and Shower gel was not replenished, we had to asked for it to be refilled. the cushions on the bed was still on the floor from the night before, the ironing board was still left out - I did not put it back as the iron was still very hot after ironing my dress for my conference that morning. The gym facilities was very tired with all towels being used and the used towels bin was overflowing. I was very disappointed with my stay this trip, using shortage of staff since Covid is a very old excuse now. Systems and procedures should be in placed by management to ensure the 5 star ratings is upheld. No point upselling or selling more rooms if they cannot keep customers happy to come back again. This was not only my opinion but that of my colleagues. very disappointing!

I was so impressed with the reception staff, who were friendly, accommodating and professional. Claudia and Ella went out of their way to help, and did it with a smile. Claudia met us to drop off a key for the car park, which was very thoughtful as my mother can't walk far these days. Our room is lovely, so central, modern and fresh. Great to just step out the door, and be so close to the shops and other activities...its just a hop skip and a jump from the cable car. Given the 5 star treatment we've received, I would definitely stay here again, when next visiting Wellington. I will also consider booking a Quay hotel when traveling around NZ. Thanks again to Ella and Claudia!

Always thoroughly enjoy my stay here. Very convenient, a step away from central Courtenay Place. Parking is convenient and easily accessed. Rooms are fully equipped with kitchenette that has its own dishwasher/cooktop/fridge etc. super comfy bed and nice little balcony. Really nice open plan bathroom/wet room and lighting is great for dolling up! It’s the PERFECT spot for a night out on the town. Always will be booking here for when I am needing to spend my night in Central Wellington for events. Christian H at the counter is a very nice and welcoming work colleague.

A divine experience glamping in a vineyard! ❤️ Had the good fortune of stumbling across Martinborough on my way to Wellington. It's a quaint place with a variety of well appointed cabins with gas fireplaces and spa baths just outside the cute village of cafes, shops and wineries. Their team is kind and hardworking. 💯 Bring your own food since you'll have a kitchenette and food can be limited during the day since most places don't open until evening or the weekends for tourists. Also, recommend driving since it's both expensive and challenging to get around outside of the limited free shuttle. Bikes are available to rent for $40NZD 🤑🤑

I can only say that had I read other reviews on here I would not have booked this place and for the price we paid (near $200 pn) it was by far the worst we had during our six weeks in NZ. Room was not as advertised, carpet was old, worn and stained and had not been vacuumed. Only one sofa and mini table for eating on - room would not fit anything bigger. On arrival we noticed sink was filthy and benches had not been cleaned. Stovetop and oven were also both dirty. Had to do clean it myself (when I complained after we left, was told everything was clean, yeah, well I cleaned the bench tops and stovetop). Bed was OK but sheets were unironed and whilst they might have been clean certainly had not been commercially laundered, more likely just washed and dried in the provided washing machine/dryer. We also found wet sheets in the washing machine (and no, I don’t believe the manager’s story that the previous guest left them there - more likely the owner who uses the place during the week). Shower leaked water all over the floor, no bath mat provided, hand towel and face cloths were thin and stained (fit for rags). Paintwork was dreadful, could see where bits had been patched and colour painted over with white. Whole place needs renovating (manager said it was 20 years old, yeah, well it should be being rented out at the price). As an added insult I asked the owner/manager via intercom, if we could leave our bags and collect later. He said yes, cleaner would collect and take them to the office (which was not open even thought this when it was advertised as being open). Double checked he would be there on our return as we could not ring him. On return manager was not there (again when office was supposed to be open), so, fortunately we kept the key and found our bags still in the room. Manager denied this conversation and reckons he said we just leave the bags in the room and take our key with us. What he said was nothing like what he says he said. As I could not discuss any of these issues with the manager before I left, I contacted him afterwards asking for a partial refund ,but he refused, simply offering a free night in the future (an empty promise as he knew we were from overseas and probably won’t be back, and it would be easy forget or not honour the offer anyway.)

I stayed here as it was close to the ferry terminal and I was happily surprised. Super friendly check in and a really tastefully decorated room. Tea and coffee making and a fridge and a microwave if you wanted to cook. Lovely toiletries. A short 10 min walk to town. The only downside is limited restaurants close by - I do not recommend the Vietnamese at all. It was horrendous but this hotel was well worth the price. Nice and quiet overnight

The hotel does not provide breakfast, but the location of the hotel is very convenient. There is a supermarket within 10 minutes' walk. The train station, long-distance bus (with the train station) station, and the ferry terminal can be walked. It's downhill from Wellington's busiest commercial street, three minutes away. During the day, you can take the elevator down from the office building to the commercial street, and at night you can go down the steps. The hotel has parking. We booked a double bed room, the bed was big enough, and two people sleep very well. If you have children, you can book a twin room, that is, a large bed and a normal single bed. The hotel is also very convenient to the airport, and it takes 20 minutes by taxi. The hotel is very clean, and the washing machine, induction cooker, microwave oven, oven, cooker hood, as well as pots and plates, knives and forks are very complete, making cooking very convenient. In a word, I like it and I'm satisfied. If I go to Wellington, I will definitely stay in the hotel again.
Quest Petone

I have stayed in this wonderful establishment at least twice a month for the past 4 months for business. I have been meaning to write a review for a long time. Firstly heads up to the amazing Gurdev, office manager who quite frankly deserves a medal (or at least a pay rise) for his absolutely outstanding customer service. Not only does he make me feel welcome, but goes above and beyond to make sure that nothing is ever a problem. I have observed his interactions with other guests and I’m sure they would also say the same should they chose to review. Although very close to Jackson street, I have never been bothered by noise. A handy walk to many excellent eateries. The rooms are beautifully cleaned by lovely cleaning staff. Some rooms are a little small, it doesn’t bother me as I’m just there to sleep basically. Bed’s super comfortable. What’s not to like… if you want to stay in Petone I would highly recommend

It's close to Queen's Wharf. The rooms are large and tall. The outer building is very European style. Arrive, very good feeling, if the price can still be recommended
