The hotel's breakfast is definitely a major highlight. The restaurant is spacious and bright, offering a wide and diverse selection of food. For Chinese options, there's an excellent variety of warm congee, steamed buns, fried dough sticks, and various side dishes. Everything is prepared authentically, tasting just like homemade. Western choices include bread, ham, fried eggs, and coffee, all of which are of excellent quality. They also offer freshly squeezed juices that are crisp and nutritious. Whether you prefer Chinese or Western breakfast, you'll find something you love here to kickstart an energetic day. While the hotel's pool isn't huge, the water is crystal clear, and you can often see staff regularly testing and maintaining it. The area around the pool is also very clean and tidy, equipped with comfortable lounge chairs where you can relax after a swim. A refreshing dip here is perfect for both exercise and relaxation. Finally, I must commend the hotel's thoughtful attention to detail – they provide L'Occitane toiletries. L'Occitane's bath products are renowned for their high quality, fresh and pleasant scent, and rich lather. After using them, skin and hair feel clean and comfortable, which truly adds a luxurious touch to the stay. Overall, Wyndham Grand Shanxi Datong excels in both its facilities and service quality. The next time I visit Datong, I will definitely choose to stay here again, and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Datong for leisure or business!

The hotel has a great location, close to the high-speed rail station. The front desk staff are all very enthusiastic; they greeted us as soon as we entered and helped us with the elevator. The room was clean, and we got complimentary mini-bar drinks every day. For two evenings, we craved rice, so we dined at the hotel's Chinese restaurant. The dishes were reasonably priced, and the rice was delicious. Chef No. 2's 'Guo You Rou' (fried pork in sauce) was exceptionally good, even better than the signature 'Guo You Rou' we had elsewhere in Shanxi later on – the flavor was just perfect. On the second night, Chef No. 3's 'Hui Cai' (stew) was also delicious and came in a large portion. Many thanks to both! If you're coming to Yuncheng, stay at Novotel; it's genuinely excellent. (The hotel doesn't ask guests for good reviews, which is great and shows their confidence in their service.)

Veteran Cadre Style (Taiyuan) It’s my first time staying at Kempinski. It has a strong old-fashioned atmosphere, which young people may find a bit old-fashioned. But the service and hardware facilities are very good, and the cost-effectiveness of staying in the off-season is very high [heart] Location: Close to Changfeng Street subway station, about 100 to 200 meters away, and also close to Binhe Expressway, very convenient for driving and public transportation. Decoration style: It's quite standard. In the eyes of those who like it, it is steady and elegant, and it is the result of years of accumulation. Those who don't like it think it is old-fashioned and has no novelty [laughing and crying]. But the furniture is of high quality, with a bit of old money style. Hardware facilities: Impeccable, with a gym and swimming pool, all of which are large in size. The room is big enough. I stayed in a deluxe view room. I like the layout very much. There are huge floor-to-ceiling windows, three separate washing areas, and a bathtub next to the window, so you can have a clear view of the night view. The interior is also unambiguous, with electric curtains, smart switches, top-tier brand sanitary ware, wall-mounted toilets and the quality of the toiletries are also online. The most important thing is that the bedding is very comfortable, the mattress and pillow are moderately soft and hard, and I slept soundly [laughing and crying] Service: This is even better. While the hardware is truly impressive, the 'soft' services really fall short. **Facilities:** The decor is bright and luxurious, with crystal chandeliers adorning the lobby and rooms. Numerous mirrors are used to create a sense of spaciousness. The rooms are generously sized, and the 1.5-meter wide double beds are very comfortable. **Cleanliness:** Perhaps because the summer holidays had just ended and the room hadn't been occupied for some time, the phone and desk were quite dusty. I had to clean them myself with wet wipes. **Service:** The front desk and in-room service were quite good. Slippers, extra pillows, and drinking water were promptly delivered upon request. When we returned late from the Yungang Grottoes, the front desk kindly extended our check-out time. However, upon arriving at the hotel, as I was taking my luggage out of the taxi, the staff member at the entrance simply stood by, expressionless, watching me. After checking in at the front desk, I asked if my luggage could be sent to my room, only to be told to find a bellhop myself. As one of Datong's premier hotels, the hardware is undeniably grand. However, staying here leaves you with the distinct impression that while its facade is resplendent, the internal service ethos is rather perfunctory, embodying a 'do as little as possible' and 'if it can be ignored, ignore it' mentality.

Hygiene: Excellent. All towels, bath towels, and bathrobes come in sealed bags, which made me feel very secure using them. Facilities: Excellent. Although it's an older hotel, the showerheads show their age but are very well-maintained and work perfectly. Environment: The location is great. The room card gives access to a small gate leading to Yingze Lake Park. It's a nice two to three-kilometer loop for a leisurely stroll. Service: Excellent. They offered complimentary welcome fruits, and you just scan a QR code to request more amenities. There's also a delivery robot that brings food right to your door, all very convenient. Suggestion: I hope they can switch from instant Nestlé coffee to pour-over coffee bags. Instant coffee feels too low-end and doesn't match the hotel's overall quality.

When I came to Yuncheng for tourism, I originally wanted to choose an old hotel, but I was worried that the facilities would be old, so I wanted to stay in a newer hotel. Because the hotel had no rooms on May Day, we split the holiday into two parts and stayed in this hotel in the second half. Now I think about it, I am still very fortunate. This hotel does have new facilities, but it feels like there is really no service. On the day of check-in, I found that the minibar was empty and there was no welcome fruit. I asked the front desk if there was a room delivery service. The first reaction of the front desk was that there would be a service charge for room delivery. When we replied that we could add a service charge, we were given a phone call, but there was still no room delivery service. I asked the hotel for a buckwheat pillow, but the pillow that only contained a small layer of buckwheat on the pillow surface was delivered. Is a 100% buckwheat pillow too expensive to use? Then I want to complain about the breakfast of this hotel. You can see that the dining space is very spacious, but the quality of the breakfast is very poor. Except for noodles, cakes and porridge made by the hotel itself, the others are purchased ready-made. There is no Western pastry made by the hotel itself, and the quality of the purchased ones is also very poor. There is no fresh juice, the juice is very sweet and unpalatable, and the coffee is not good. Comparing two hotels that we stayed in consecutively during the same holiday, this hotel is expensive but has poor service. We understand that this hotel is usually positioned as a wedding venue and a resting place for crew members at the airport next to it. It is not recommended for tourists to stay here, and the cost performance is very low.

Beautiful new hotel. Very friendly staff who offered two gifts to every room during the national holiday. Room felt spacious and luxurious and was sunny and mostly quiet during a very busy holiday period. Hotel restaurant was also delicious with good service. We ate there twice. We also had breakfast everyday of our stay. Very nice quality including lots of local ingredients and choices was fantastic! The hotel is so conveniently located in the ancient city. Walking distance to a really nice cafe with great coffee, lots of restaurants and all the main attractions including pop up laneway markets selling ancient treasures. Honestly, it’s a fantastic hotel and felt worth the price. During our trip from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, through Ordos and Datong, to Taiyuan, we stayed at five hotels in total, and the Marriott was by far our favorite. Upon arrival, a hotel executive personally greeted us and gave the children lollipops, which absolutely delighted them. The hotel is quite new, with excellent facilities, and the breakfast was incredibly delicious. We booked a family room which was large and beautiful, much to the children's delight. We only stayed two nights as our main reason for being in Taiyuan was simply to catch a flight home. When checking out, the kids were begging to stay longer, not wanting to go home. Even I was reluctant to leave – it was truly that comfortable. The entire staff, from service personnel to management, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was also excellent, and the location is fantastic. In fact, this hotel alone has made us consider returning to Taiyuan multiple times! 😁

The selection of B&Bs in Pingyao Ancient City is truly overwhelming. After repeated rounds of searching, I finally settled on Xingshengjiu. The experience exceeded my expectations, and I truly made the right choice. 📍Location: Convenient, tranquil amidst the bustle. Located in a quiet alley in the heart of the ancient city, it's a 10-minute walk from the bustling South Street. 💁♂️Service: Attentive, caring, and proactive 24-hour butler service. 1) Arrival: Immediately contacted via WeChat upon booking. Upon arrival, a sightseeing shuttle was picked up from the Guanbei parking lot outside the city, and the staff warmly greeted me. 2) Tours: Proactive suggestions and maps were provided during outings. Even sightseeing shuttles were arranged for trips outside the city. 3) Every time I encountered the hotel staff, they were enthusiastic and helpful. 4) Check-out: A shuttle was booked to the parking lot, and a small set of aged vinegar was given as a souvenir. 🛏️Rooms: Brand-new facilities, modern comfort 1) A two-story, two-courtyard, two-story courtyard house, designed in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The tatami we booked was spacious and bright. The room was modern in design and amenities, including a tea table with Xiaodu automatic control. 2) The 4-meter king-size bed was high-quality and very comfortable. 3) The bathroom had separate wet and dry areas, a powerful shower 🚿, and thick, soft towels. The pink Lefen hairdryer was both stylish and powerful. 🍵Breakfast: Jin-style snacks and aged vinegar tasting Whether it's the small buffet on the first day or the nine-square set menu on the second day, you can savor local specialties. The bar also offers four flavors of aged vinegar: healthy Polygonatum odoratum vinegar and Ganoderma lucidum vinegar, as well as beauty-enhancing red date vinegar and mulberry vinegar. 💁♀️Value-added Services and Amenities 1) The Starbucks location is a unique feature, with guests receiving a complimentary Starbucks coffee and afternoon tea. 2) A laundry room is also available.
