• Airside Transit: No transit visa is required if you remain within Mumbai Airport’s designated transit area during a layover.
• Exiting Transit Area: A valid Indian visa is needed if you leave the transit zone, pass through immigration/customs, or have a self-transfer requiring baggage collection and recheck.
• Transit Visa Rules: If your time between flights exceeds 24 hours, you will need this visa, provided your layover does not exceed the maximum allowed stay of 3 days. For layovers longer than 3 days, a regular tourist or entry visa is required.
